  1. Garland is a stud. He'll be fine. But definitely glad we got off of the contract. Now just gotta draft McKenna and well be cup champs in no time. 😉 GOD(s) PLZ MAKE IT HAPPEN!

  2. I had said that from the start that Garland is a 3rd liner and most Canucks players are 3rd 4rth liners.. Yet they put a lot of them on One and two. Brought back Boeser and over paid him. Wasted a first round pick on Marcus. Resigned Demko. Got rid of good players like Zadorov and Cole, even Schenn. Leaves one scratching their heads as to why. Play a team full of guys under 190 pounds. Pick soft skill players. Could go on and on. Suter was on the smaller size but was better than most of our guys. Can't remember what the return was. Still funny we let Reichel go and has been playing steady on Boston. Just have to shake your head.

  3. Weaponizing our cap space, next year I would predict:

    Lafreniere-Kotkaniemi-EP40
    Ohgren-Rossi-Boeser
    McKenna-Karlsson-O'Connor
    Lekkerimaki-Cootes-???

    Gone: DeBrusk, Kane, etc

We are going to take on some crappy contracts this off season. Lafreniere, Kotkaniemi, Huberdeau, etc. We will probably only need to pay very little, or even get a pick out of them, low or high depending how bad the contract is, and if they retain salary or not. We are going to see if any of them gel with EP40. Cap space doesn't matter for now we are tanking for 3-5 years.

Before anyone say "These guys sucks we don't want them!", Canucks are at the very bottom of the whole league (not even close) and will be rebuilding for the next 3 or 5 years. So whoever "star player free agent" you are thinking of signing for $10-11m, no way in hell that player is coming to Canucks to rot for 3 or 5 years until we get our sh*t together. Heck, even 2nd or 3rd line guys don't want to come here unless they are desperate, knowing full well bad stats here would ruin their career. Would you sign desperate guys like Jeff Skinner? Would any decent goalie want to come play here and get 4 goals against every night for 3 or 5 years? So yes, we will be taking on crappy contracts and getting picks. Only players coming here are either by drafts or by bad contracts, for the next little while.

As for those that say trade EP40, you know very well EP40 is a 70-80+ point guy on any other decent team with decent linemates. We aren't trying to win now, so why would you trade him when he is at his lowest value, because he literally got no linemates to play with? Buy high sell low, that's how you profit? Relax, we got time to find and develop his linemates, we don't need the wins. Be glad EP40 said he wants to stay through the rebuild, so we aren't forced to sell him at his lowest value.
