Dustin Wolf’s Down Year… Should Flames Fans Be Concerned?? | FN Barn Burner

Boomer, Pinder and Rhett dive into a deep discussion surrounding Flames goalie Dustin Wolf and whether there should be long-term concern after a down year. The guys debate if this is just a bump in the road following an outstanding season where Wolf was among the league’s best, or if there are signs to be worried about moving forward, while also touching on the emergence of Devin Cooley and what it could mean for the crease in Calgary.

  1. I dont see a difference between Cooley or Wolfe… They’ve both been hot and cold. Both stole games for the team

  2. No. Every great goalies have their down times, this shouldn’t determine Wolf’s overall in the team. And don’t listen to the non flames fan who are saying to trade him. They are morons

  3. This year he is starting against better teams and was over worked at the start of the year when Cooley looked awful. It's a tougher assignment and the team is worse defensively as a whole. Weegar was fighting it all year and now Perekh is in and is often unable to win a puck battle. Wolf has looked great most nights with the odd ok performance. Without Wolf and Cooley we would be in Vancouver's spot.

  4. Thats what BB does shamed our players and push to move them now they got there way and it will be yrs before we see any playoff hopes thanx BB

  5. I think he’ll be fine , but I’ve said all along , I wish the Flames had gotten a veteran goalie to back up and mentor him. Cooley’s a great guy who gives great interviews , and it’s been great watching him have success this year. But Wolf is your #1 , and he needed an experienced goalie around to help mentor him through the rough spots of growing into a consistent top 10 goalie year after year.

  6. I think year 1 was 95% adrenaline. Year 2 for Wolf is now realizing the level of the NHL and working towards dominating that league. Relax for this year IMO.

  7. Goalies are so unpredictable and the defensive play of the team in front of them is just as crucial. Put too much money into your goaltender and it’s harder to build that solid team in front. With the cap going up and up too many players see it as their way to a bigger payday instead of seeing it as an oppurtunity to bring in better players that they couldn’t afford otherwise. I think we’re starting to see a shift coming and it could become a rude awakening for some teams

  8. Rhett WTF???? You bipolar? If he was winning games & putting us in the mushy middle you would be whining about that. Flames are the lowest scoring team in the league geezus have a glass of good old scotch & all will be well.

  9. Not concerned about Wolf, but he simply can't do it under this team, but I think once the team improves, Wolf will be one of the top goalies in the league for years to come, he'll have a great career. Anyone saying he's not worth the contract, or they signed it too early will find out what I mean soon enough.

  10. You guys got identical Stu skinner stats at 3x the cost, and before you say anything go look at the stats year by year 😭😭

  11. He doesn't even need to work out technically. Cooley could end up the starter for the next 6 years, goalies are good into their late 30s now. As long as one of them pans out it's fine. They could be a very good tandem.
