A slow start and too many mistakes proved costly for the San Jose Sharks in a 6-3 loss to the Predators. With the Wild Card race coming down the stretch, this was a missed chance for San Jose to strengthen their position.

So frantic and impatient on the power play.
Not ideal but we’re not done
Smith and Eklund massively under performing I find
You can’t expect to beat Nashville in their final matchup on the road. They have our number. Now it feels like you have to win one of the Oilers or Ducks game. Win every other game on their schedule (Blackhawks twice, Canucks, Jets). Then you hope Nashville gets screwed by their tougher schedule and the Kings maybe lose a game they shouldn’t lose to give the Sharks a path.
The 2 dudes that didn't show up tonight, Askarov and Smith.
I’m sorry but Askarov has been terrible since his injury. Hope he can turn it around
I love the Sharks but we need to get in the draft lottery and have our balls come up like the Islanders last year.
I think the thing I have to constantly remind myself with how much of a surprise their progress as been this year is that they organization did not expect this, so the defense is not currently constructed for a team that is trying to make the playoffs. So remembering they went in by committing that they really wanted Dickinson and Mukh to get a lot of playing time to develop them and then fill out with affordable vets. the sloppy play usually starts with a lot of those vets turning the puck over (often without being pressured) and creatin extended zone time for the opponent or create bad breakout turnovers and just leaving the goalies hung out to dry. If they can actually get it to the forwards cleanly, they usually get the breakouts going. I haven't been to any live games so the broadcast is limited. I can't see how much or little the forwards have to share in the blame by if they are circling back and giving the D places to go with the puck, but the way they throw it around leads me to believe the forwards aren't really a part of that problem in a significant way. I would like them to sneak into the playoffs and get all our young guys the first taste of it. In the off-season though, they definitely need to do some work to upgrade the defense around the two young guys a lot more though.
#85 allowed a shorty when it mattered the most….again.
3 games in 4 night guys are tired and we beat Nashville 2 weeks ago but guys will bounce back with defense and push hard to make it the door is still open 3 teams only clinched playoffs
