Bruins aren’t that surprising to me. I picked them as a playoff team to start the year. Good D and goaltending + Pasta was probably enough to get a wildcard spot.

It's absolutely disgusting that joel queneville is coaching in the nhl again. He literally was part of covering up multiple sexual assaults. If you can't take a hard stand against that what would you stand against? Quenneville is a disgusting human being
Injuries have been terrible but I think the real thing that has sunk Florida this season is that Bob hasn't quite looked like his old self.
Tampa went through a lot of injuries this year(haven't had their captain for most of it) and have thrived in spite of that. Coop should get the Jack Adams this year. There's no question he's an elite coach, but he gets snubbed every year because his team is always good. Bolts have had a lot of setbacks, but you'd never know it if you weren't watching cause Coop has kept the ship right.
The panthers take is just wrong. If Buffalo, Minnesota, or Dallas were missing their top 2 players for a combined 120 games plus the most whole lineup manhours lost after winning a cup, IN HISTORY. Then they too wouldn’t make the playoffs.
No islanders on this list? They didn’t make the playoffs last year, were expected to be middle of the pack at best, yet are in 3rd in the metro with only 2 or so points separating them from 2nd. Not to mention sorokin is a vezina contender, shaefer is the calder favorite, and shaefer is 2nd in goals amongst all defenseman not just rookies. Also id be remised if to not mention the pacific division leaders. All of the top 3 wouldn’t even be in a playoff spot if they were in the eastern conference
