The defense didn't help Jarry at all, they folded and let Jarry take the full load, even McDavid blew a clearing pass. They dropped the ball and played like crap.

Are the haters missing Stu Skinner now? An Edmonton Native treated like they did is horrific. If we knew exactly whom they were I’d make sure they were banned from going to Oilers games. Yes Jarry isn’t the best but I couldn’t believe when he took accountability for his unacceptable Goaltending. I gained respect for his honesty. But he unfortunately needs to go Pronto!

Seems like good place to make an observation. Even as a non-fan(not a hater either) i think it really would help to take a deep look into goalie coaching staff at this point. I mean the team defense has not been great since i started following nhl again several years ago but i dont know what else this team can do but make a change there. I mean edmonton on at least the mcdavid era seems to be the worst goalie graveyard ive seen(well, maybe tied with ottawa) to point i hope no goalie i like goes there and no matter who it is i presume he will turn to swiss cheese suddenly. Looking into history bit further seems to reinforce the case its about that. I mean on other hand teams like islanders and canes seem to turn any goalie from unknown to star or rejuvenate any old goalies careers. I mean sure, both team play the sort of style that makes goalies job as easy as possible with cost to offense(and especially on canes side they really pad the stats of opponents goalie as well xD) but the samplesize is quite large by now that if youre a goalie, edmonton is about as much bad time for you as its good time for you if you are top6 forward.
We made it to the stanley cup final twice those two years, we ONLY needed to change 1-2 people on the team, not the whole fking team ……idiots

Normal situation Jarry would have been pulled at 3-0 or 4-0 and were not talking 7 goals. Ingram was never going in that game.

Honest and valid criticism of the Oilers play. Flames media does cover up for the Flames. Flames are door matting it and the Flames media is gushing praise all over the teams culture.
The president of the oilers started this mess by not signing Holloway and Brobert. He then went out and got a shitty GM. Then they give Nurse aka the Statue an extension to his exorbitant undeserving contract. I feel so sorry for McDavid and the fans. I’m not a hockey professional, just a fan but damn can’t they see that they needed a really good goalie and get rid of Nurse.

I am a Penguins fan and when he was traded to Edmonton the Penguins goaltending coach, Andy Chiodo, was not. Chiodo had a long relationship with Jarry – a partial explanation for his up and down play this year.
I always thought Jarry needs to see a sports psychologist to try and help smooth out his inconsistencies (he is a 2 time all-star).
When watching Jarry you know it is going to be a long night when Jarry is deep in the crease. When he is at his best he is out challenging shooters.

As a former goalie I would put it like this: Edmonton is fighting against a deep trifecta situation where first your goalie isn't playing his best game and secondly the team in front of him leaves him hanging which causes the goalie feel he needs to protect not just the shooting angle but also passing lines and free players near the net and as he does that the defence men start over-correcting themselves with Jarry which ends up the play to look like that: everyone is doing everything but in reality no one is doing the right thing

Goaltending is the hardest position on the ice and mentally you have to be confident ,he needs goalie therapy sessions to get his brain focused to remind him hes a pro goalie and capable .
It sucks for sure.

Pens fan here…every so often I go and find videos like this to see how you all are handling the Tristan Jarry experience. It's all very familiar lol. The next phase is throwing him on waivers and hoping someone bites. Wish you all the best but I'm glad its your problem now instead of ours lol! I don't miss it!

I think their biggest issue is defense. Idc how many points Bouchard has. Anyone can play with mcdavid and have good numbers. Watching him in the defensive zone giving up breakaway after breakaway. Prime hasak wouldn't stand a chance either. Jarry was a swing and a miss, hindsight should have just stuck with skinner but the defense needs the most help
