Why was Treliving relieved of duties now and who may be in line to get Leafs’ job next?

The Maple Leafs relieved general manager Brad Treliving of his duties on Monday night. TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger joins SC with Jay Onrait with the details, who may be in line to get the job next, and if there are more changes on the way.

  1. Fact was TreLAZY never had a plan he had no clue what he was doing in both Calgary & in Toronto the proof was very clear from his trades & his lack of how to put a great team together.

TreL😂SER lost in all his trades.

They let Marner go for basically nothing & never boyhered to fix the tip 6 lines he instead got all these slow dog-shitters for his bottom 6 which we see how well that worked out.

TreLAZY & Bozo Berube should've been fired at Christmas time or sooner.

  2. Treliving was a panic hire by Shanahan. Treliving can be credited with failure in Calgary. Shanahan had no history of building a hockey team on his resume. Stop hiring losers and incompetents.

  3. Fired because he wasn’t bringing up enough marlies and pulling knies out of the lineup. Treliving does not have a good track record and shouldn’t have been around this long. Berube needs to go too.

  4. The manager gets blamed for the poor play by the team! Getting four shots in the first half of the game against St. Louis showed that they don’t have what it takes.

  5. The Leafs organization has been dysfunctional since 1967. Why should they be concerned about a total rebuild. They “print” money in Toronto because their fans will always buy tickets. No the real problem with the Leafs, it’s their whole culture that “we are the best organization in the NHL”

  6. NO PRONGER NO DOUG ARMSTRONG OR ROB BLAKE LEAFS NEED TO HIRE A HIGH – END GM PREFERABLY SOMEONE LIKE TAMPA BAYS OR FLORIDA OR BOSTON OR MONTREALS GM 'S NOT THESE GM'S THAT JUST GOT FIRED THIS IS THE MECCA OF HOCKEY TORONTO AND YOU HIRE TOP- NOTCH GM END OF STORY

  7. Watching Leafs lately with my new cable device it looks like they are ok but not good enough. Tougher division than the west for sure. Vegas in the east not close enough.
Leafs goals against. About 1 per game more that top teams. Then the Ducks are doing ok with more against than for. Very unusual.
So trade away? Or add a few?
Oilers, Leafs, Vegas suffer from ego hockey. Play the stars and the rest sit cooling off.

  8. Hunter and Cassidy, let's get on with the rebuild already so i can see at least ONE Leaf's stanley cup before I die

  9. I'm happy. I never believed that Treliving was the man to fix the mess he made. I wonder what Mark Hunter feels about coming back?

  10. going onto their third gm , and third coach and second president. The issue with this organization is everywhere. the players are useless in the playoffs The management wouldn't know talent on a good day And they squander draft picks like no one else. And lastly the fan base supports thIs mess

  11. Treliving has a history of making disastrous trades as the Flames and Leafs GM. Should never have been hired as the Leafs GM.
He tried to make a puck possession team into a dump and chase team. The Leaf players looked lost this year playing that style.
Berube will be fired as well at the end of the season. The Leaf organization never learn from their mistakes.

  12. How could the Leafs look at calgary and how they lost Gaudreau, Tkchauk and Monahan and a 1st round pick for.. Weegar and Huberdeau , and be like. That's our guy!

  13. Jim Nils is out of contact at the end of the year in Dallas. I think he's a wsy better pick than Armstrong

  14. Time to put the right gm in place and thsts who it should of been instead of dumbass it should of been mark hunter. Funny how you look around the league at ex London knights succeeding. Least they all have back bone .

  15. Starts with ownership folks. The old story that the camel was a horse designed by a committee. Well this camel has successfully put 19 thousand butts in the seats every game for how many years without winning? If people are willing to pay Leaf prices to watch a loser year after year, then why change? Let Marner walk. Who cares. I feel happy for Marner, Roy, Mitten, Bobby McMann, and others who now have brighter futures. It will take years to rebuild the Leafs with or without Matthews. The question remains. Does management actually care?
