The way I see it markstrom lost not by the rules of hockey but by the rules of manhood. If taking the fight to the ground ends the fight and you take the feet out from under and take the opponent to his back and in the fight at the moment he starts getting some punches back at you then you got scared and the punch you took overwhelmed you so you tried to save face took him to the ground by tripping him rather than beating him he won because markstrom got scared
