The Montreal Canadiens are just several Calder Trophy candidates in a trench coat. #SDP

  1. Even as a Habs fan, I can clearly say that Schaefer will win the Calder. Even if there's 2 CH in the nomination, they are unfortunately the loosers. Probably if they would be a rookie in the next 5 years, like their rookie season would be next year or after etc., either Demidov or Dobes would win the Calder.

  2. Fandom aside, I think the majority of ́people are at peace & agree with Scheafer getting the Calder, it doesn't take anything away from the rookie Habitants.

  3. The rebuilt in MTL is legit because, they have a special group of good guys, extremely bold and able to play under crazy pressure with a smile in their face! Never seen something like that before!

  4. Yea I think Scheafer probably has it but I believe if demidov was getting full minutes and was on the first line comparatively to how Scheafer is on first line for his team we could actually say hey maybe demidov gets a bigger glance.

  5. Schaefer is going to win the Calder. That kid is making history every time he steps out on to the ice.

  6. Schaefer is only so high in points because of his ridiculous play time because the Islanders have mediocre players at best. I mean the guy is on the ice for NEARLY half the game. Remove Schaefer and the Islanders are nowhere close to making the playoffs. Thinking Schaefer deserves the Calder when Demidov has more points than him and plays 10 whole minutes less per game is ridiculous.

  7. Schaefer's time on ice is exactly why he shouldn't win imo. He's playing an average of 10 minutes more a night than Demidov, and almost 10 more than Senneke. He has the same if not lesser numbers. I get that he's getting that time because he's so good but voters shouldn't care how good a player is they should care how good the stats are.

  8. Steve pointed out something even more incredible…. They could potentially have two more Calder finalists next year with Hage and Fowler….

  9. Habs still have Hage, Zharovsky and Reinbacher in the pipe and were already the youngest team in the League to start the season.
