Paul Maurice: Florida Panthers Lose More to Injury in Rout of Ottawa Senators

Seth Jones tied a franchise-record for defensemen with three assists in the first — one in which the Panthers stormed to a 5-0 lead.

Matthew Tkachuk had a goal and three assists, Sam Bennett had two assists, Carter Verhaeghe had two goals and an assist. Florida also got the quickest goal in franchise history from Noah Gregor to start the game. Mackie Samoskevich and A.J. Greer also scored.

Florida may have lost defenseman Aaron Ekblad to a broken hand after he tied Sasha Barkov for the franchise lead by playing in his 804th game. Dmitry Kulikov and Donovan Sebrango also left in the third.

The Panthers play host to the Boston Bruins on Thursday.
