    This is not good for Isles. He is noticable out there. Much different than Tsyplakov. He is better than our garbage 4th line, Palat, and Duclair. And arguably some others too. Poor player management again by this team.

    Curious timing for Shabby. There is a non-zero chance the Isles not only make the playoffs but can go a couple of rounds and Shabanov is called on as an injury replacement and shines, setting him up for the future

    Unsure if he is really unhappy or if this just posturing by his agent. If he really doesn't want to be on the Team, then cut him loose

    He didn’t cost us anything and has little value. Likely was on the block at the trade deadline and no bites! Simply don’t qualify him. We are not losing anything with Eklund soon in the mix .

    It’s a shame bc I think he’s really skilled. The numbers tell a story for sure, and I’m no scout, but I feel like he’s passed the eye test in multiple games idk. Starving for minutes, consistently swapped between lines, and ultimately just being an after thought is not the way to develop talent.

    Shabby Is a smaller guy that has good skill. But he's never really made the transfer into the NHL game. He specifically wanted to play for the Islanders. And I give him props for that. But if the man can't play in the NHL at the level the team needs him, then that's just the fact of life.

    This whole system of trading NHL draft picks for established players and then going shopping in the KHL and hoping to get lucky needs to be torn down, this was how Lamoriello ran the Islanders and he is no longer in charge(supposedly). The facts are crystal clear…The Islanders draft dept that focuses on the KHL has been striking out for years…outside of goalie prospects(Sorokin, Gamzin). Build through the draft going forward and spend the resources necessary to develop a winning franchise in the AHL….stop buying Russian lottery tickets.

    Tsyp is not having breakthrough at devils. Drouin got healthy scratched by Blues.
    I guess if you can’t make the current isles roster, you probably can’t make it elsewhere in NHL. Sounds like a harsh conclusion, but it seems like it’s our situation. We’re still too thin in line up, even forwards.

    I said this GM is NOT the answer, Druon, gone, Shabby is not a good player at all. Then this GM brings in a pair of 35 year old has been's and a player who last scored a goal was pre -covid, oh he is also over 30. This GM blows. Lou 2.0.This team could have been in the same spot but a lot younger had they released all the 30 and over players last summer. We would have picks and cap space…..now we are fighting for an 8th place finish.. pathetic

    Its hard for a player to play once a month and just produce without being given opportunities to learn. Instead we roll out Palat, McLean, etc. Our defense is horrible. I would prefer him to make lineup over like 4 other players. Roy and darsche suck so much they broke him. And he never had a chance. Hes gone for a 7th because Darsche cant make winning deals lol atleast we have palat and schenn with all the leadership etc
