I love dobson but i feel we overpaid for sure. When i heard the deal was in the works i thought first round pick for sure and a player or a second round pick . I never thiught we would give 2 mid first round picks and heineman and then overpay 9.5 mil a year for dobson . We won most of the trades so we were bound to lose one . We overpaid no doubt in my mind . Heinemans salary is small and he has 20 goals already. And atchinson should be good , we needed a tough dman like atchinson . But hes 3 years away
No offense Emil has been traded at least twice in his career. Good player but never in a category with 1-2 Dman. (Dobson). This trade happens only because of Montreals picks that they accumulated plus the Projection of Shaeffer ( elite 1D) and only because we have Lane Hutson this trade only happens because of these intangibles not because of Heineman. He was the easiest part of this trade.

Good assessment..dman still worth a bit more imo..still was a world where Schafer got top spot and Dobson slid down, however he likely could have been butt hurt about it..seems to be working in mtl for him as 2nd fiddle 🎻 to Hutson tho😊
