I don’t know who actually reads this deep into the description but I appreciate you more than most for actually doing that. You’re just hella academic and one could say you’re a bit of a book worm.

i want him on the habs lmao
His breakout season was 2 years ago, where were you then? Im not even a rangers fan and I can tell he is doing just fine, hes a mirror to RNH in edmonton
I was really hoping the Stars would be able to trade for Laf at the deadline
Classic Logjam
As a Rangers fan, Laf is my favorite player and I really hope he can continue his ascension and the Rangers don't trade him away. I still think he has the potential to be a star player
Im not say this is an apples to apples comparison, but Nathan Mackinnon had four years from his rookie season in 2013 until 2017 where he had a no more than 63 points a season. Then all of a sudden boom he's debatably the best player in hockey. I think Laffy could be a consistent point per game player if he can figure out the between the ears part of his game. He has all the tools and its just a matter of using them
"Prolific goal scoring" lmao are we still talking about the same player here? The top 10 scorers are prolific, maybe the top 20 if you want to stretch it. But 43rd? lmao that one killed me
gotta change your profile pic now lol
Super puffy piece for Lafreniere & Sullivan here. Lafreniere isa solid player. He is not Panarin, he's a 60+ point guy if he plays top 6 minutes with other good players. Nothing wrong with that. Yes Sullivan has Cup rings & the Gold medal but look at this year's Rangers team, his last few years in Pittsburgh. I'm not sold on him being the highest paid head coach because he's the best. I'm totally cool with him staying at Head Cach for the Rangers going forward. For the same reason I hope they keep Drury. I don't like the Rangers.
Even watching this highlights, I can tell this kid isn't going to be anything great. Probably something what Corey Perry is right now. Trade him and he fire up. Not on the team he is on now.
Incredible content. Subscribed

Nice to see you doing a video on Laf. I’ve been seeing for a while that’s he’s breaking out and people wrote him off too soon. Video was great, in depth analysis and I love the jokes
Rangers are the worst team in developement
he wasn't that overhyped if you just watched him instead of listening to French people that overhype top French prospects legit every time theyre given the chance to do so. he looked like a well-rounded guy that probably scores 30 at least a couple times.
He'll make it still… Lecavalier took forever and looked like he lost his confidence along the way… but he got there. NYR going into the tank is perfect for Laf- now he gets the Hughes/Mackinnon treatment as a 24 yer old- buckle up…
Imagine if ny was able to develop their young forwards like laf, kravtsov, andersson, chytil AND kakko… they 100% would have won a cup. It’s almost as embarrassing as the bruins 2015 blunder lol I love it
proof the qmjhl is garbage
Thank you for this. Given the Panarin trade to LA that effectively ended this latest era of NYR hockey, as well as a reasonable contract with plenty of term remaining, it looks pretty clear that the front office is shifting to Laf as the next star winger and finally giving him the keys. If things break as they should, the eventual consistent top line would be Perreault-Mika-Laf and that suits me just fine. He's been mostly excellent since the break and the production could finally match some of the initial expectations now that Laf is getting mainly top line and PP1 minutes every game.
TBH I'd rather the path he took instead of suffering on a terrible team to start his career and not see the playoffs for years. As it is, Laf played big minutes on deep playoff runs and he looked like he belonged. Was noticeable in the right ways in the toughest games. This should help if/when he helps lead the team back to a similar position in the coming years.
probably party too much in new york and new york didnt develop his player properly,
Its wild hearing "over 50 points this year".. meanwhile a ton of rookies/2nd years after him have put up insane numbers.
I wonder if it would have been better to flip him or the pick for another dominant piece for that rags?
They looked DOMINANT a few seasons ago, shouldn't have considered getting a vet.
3:46 Whats up with this AI slop video?
If you don't see it look at the text on some of the rangers logos. Its garbled.
First half of this year he had 0 puck luck and if he had a wide open shot he hit the net or whiffed and it totally dismantled his confidence. With that he's nothing. As soon as he got some buzz again he stepped back up. I think he can be good as a pro, possible all-star level. He won't make us forget Messier, but he could be a great Ranger in the end
i remember hearing he was the next sidney crosby lol
As far as point production goes, yeah you would like to have seen more up to this point. A lot of that is on rangers development not giving him time for sure. But one thing that I’ve loved about his game is how much of a unicorn he’s been as far as his tools go. He plays the boards and capitalizes down low like a power forward yet finds space so well and dangles like the best of them. He’s one of the few 1st overall wingers whose game would actually translate anywhere in a lineup. Makes me think that if all goes well over the next few years and he stays at a point per game pace he could be a sleeper for the Olympics in 4 years. Now that he can play both sides too he’s just become the best kind of utility player.
i'll always believe in my boy Laf
Has someone heard anything about Quinton Byfield???
never had seen a video of yours before…but love the analysis…i'd say there were a few things i had to pause to read which would have been nice if you had paused on for us lol (notably the first article excerpt you threw up, discussing his TOI avg falling even below Yakupov's), but I get it's a video…and I have zero idea what it takes to get one video down, let alone a lot, for subs and views. so i just wanted to say…us laffy/rangers homers…we appreciate this…and i loved the analysis…will keep you subbed for future vidz/analyses
Maybe he just isn’t good and is a bust
Something I notice from Laf is that, while he can pass, he struggles receiving passes. They bounce off his stick or float right past him too often. And for a guy that, as stated in the vid, doesn't try to create as much as adapt to plays, the puzzle pieces just don't fit together.
I'm glad the Wings got Lucas Raymond instead!
Too bad Lafreniere wants out of NYR as per rumors. He tasted what the NYR fans said about him and didn't like it. NYR also obviously did him very dirty and ruined his development. I think he will do well elsewhere but he might be done with NYR.
just wanted to say i've been following your channel for a while and it's great to see you blow up. you go into a lot of detail while still keeping the content accessible for the average fan as well as entertaining. other hockeytubers can definitely take notes from you.
