Greer brutal hit on Zary – Tough Call Recommendation
A.J. Greer should get a hefty suspension for this hit on Connor Zary. It was called a five minute major for interference. As far as suspension goes, this should be a question of how long, not if. 
Make it 13 so he can go into an early golf summer break. But we all know it's going to be 5 at the most after Gary steps in just like he did with Hartmann assaulting Stützle.
Parros, putting down his beer and asking the rest of the old boy drinking buddies if anyone has a coin to flip to see if it is a suspension or fine. Who knows nowadays — this should be a massive suspension. And didn't Greer get some pre-season disciplinary action? But since an obviously intentional knee only got five games, and that player has a career long history of suspensions for varying incidents, who knows?? The system is as broken as Parros' brain.
He doesn't just extend and drive forward on that push to the back, he actually rears back to load up and do so. Disgusting. But the NHL obviously wants this.

At first seeing it i thought 3-5 (thats where u usually put boardings) and listening to you talk i was thinking “ok hes highlighting its not a hockey play so 6-10 game category”. You usually bring the hammer down on hits, but i was not expecting 11+
I know everyone in the center of the universe is still talking about the Gudas hit (rightfully so though, 5 games was not enough), but this is infinitely worse than that knee on knee. This could end someone's career, and change their entire life. One of the worst things a player can do on the ice, way above knee on knee, slightly below kicking someone or swinging their stick at the head, but real bad. I am also in the 10+ game suspension category, regardless of any previous history for Greer. Dirty, dirty, cheap, dangerous, get him out of here and let him think for a while and send a message to everyone else. But based on other suspensions, that's likely not going to happen.
NHLDOPS really needs to redeem itself on this one. This is 10x worse than a knee on knee hit on an attempted check gone wrong. Not sure why all the comparisons to Gudas are being made. This is 1,000% intent to injure
Sometimes I forget the name of your channel is Tough Call. When I saw the title I thought how is this a tough call did you see the hit? But I totally agree he should at least get 10 games. This is literally single most dangerous play in the game, the only thing that could have made this more dangerous. Would be doing it while at full speed chasing an icing. 5-10 feet from the boards, hit to the numbers sending a player head first into the boards, the top of the head hits the boards compacting the spine and neck. Zary is lucky to have walked away from this. This hit is the exact reason the minor hockey players have a red octagon on the back of their jerseys that says respect.
There's already precedence for this kind of hit from earlier this season. IIRC, Zary looking directly at Greer several times means he should have known the potential danger and been able to protect himself. Hockey play, 0 games, Ottawa forfeits their 2028 first round draft pick.
That could have paralyzed him. The intent to injure is beyond clear. That should be 25 games. Good lord that is the most dangerous play you an imagine. Just like using a stick as a weapon. Some plays should just get you kicked out of the league.
Very dirty hit a check from behind and boarding with lots of force plus no puck so interference as well and AJ Greer has some history I give him 14 games for boarding/interference plus a fine of 10,500$

Agree with 10+ games. These can be career-ending, with no good reason to happen, ever.

For him to only get three games makes me lose faith in the future. I'd have given him 15
Wasn’t hooking in the first place which is why Greer hit him, Zary grabbed Greers stick and pulled it into I’m drawing the penalty.

He never looked at the puck and that was absolutely horrible and dangerous
I'm not kidding, I'd give him 25 games for the attempt and let it get arbitrated. Greer is so fucking lucky he didn't paralyze or kill Zary.
I know there's been worse stuff that got less. I'd like a new precedent please.
