I Didn’t Like This..

OK Guys, it’s time to take a look at the game last night between the Montreal Canadiens and the Columbus Blue Jackets! The Habs win this game by a score of 2-1, with goaltender Jakub Dobes leading the way for a 2nd straight game.. However.. I definitely have some concerns about the way the Habs are being pushed around lately. Lets break this one down!!!

  1. One or both Xhekaj bros. need to be in the first round to set the tone. Washington from last year cannot repeat itself.

  2. Totally agree. We have a defender and he's sitting around watching this crap. Is it going to take one of our star players or, God forbid, our goalie to get knocked out with an injury before Marty wakes up? He's done good things with this team but he's dropping the ball again by not playing Arber. Especially now. Carrier get bulldozed pretty much every game for quite some time now. He's going to be a liability in the playoffs.

  3. We definitely could use more Arber in the lineup. Seems to me the ones who mostly complain about him are the same types who need a whipping boy every year.Arber isn’t perfect, but he’s not nearly as bad as some say…

  4. My TOTs are…That Wood thing on Hutson pissed me off. He should have gotten an extra 2 (in any other sport, he would have been gone for that, just to show you how ridiculous the Negligent Hockey League is). I don't want a lot of fights, but the Xhekajs bring more than just fighting. They check hard, and clear people out of the crease. We have the grit we need if we just use it.

  5. nah man, you're preaching to the converted with me. we have GOT to get tougher, and the xhekajs are the solution. marty doesn't like that kind of play though; my conspiracy theory is he's told slaf not to be too physical (we haven't seen him smash someone in forever! forget fighting, he's barely finishing his checks!) we're going to get absolutely minced in the first round, just completely chewed up, and the only silver lining i can see is it might teach marty a lesson about what's needed on a playoff-ready hockey team (namely, VIOLENCE!!)

  6. They keep getting bullied because for some really fucked-up reason…MSL continually keeps the muscle off the bench.
Struble hasn't done fuck all since December of 2024…2024!!!!!! And yet he won't put Xhakej in. Every game could be like
that first game between Ottawa and Montreal in Quebec City. Remember that? With Arber AND Florian? Yeah…I do, too.

  7. Both xhekajs for playoffs but Marty needs to let them off the leash no focusing on hockey both targeting ops stars id get duc Anderson and ghule doing the same.

Gally goes hard too get him hitting we need grit plenty of talent to score and play hockey so a few guys out there only playing physical ain’t going to matter and I back our goalies on the pk.

Slaf demidov and even Suzuki need to start hitting and checking hard.

They can win the cup they just need to play dirtier

  8. Running Demi and Lane all night. And Dobes.

    Struble couldnt care less.

Arber would’ve taken numbers and made examples.

  9. Also going to say Marty is keeping the xhekajs fresh for playoffs in the hope that that is true and they’re both bulking up.

  10. Dobson is talented but soft, pretty obvious. Wifi is on the bench nobody runs the goalie, simple as that; basic hockey. As much as MSL has brought out the offensive talent of this young cadre of offensively talented players it pretty obvious to me that MSL has a blind spot when comes how important it is to protect your top shooters. I was at the game last night and they owned us the first period. Best line was Anderson and company. Way too much dicking with the puck around by Suzuki and company. The crowd was yelling shoot but they didn't. Difficult for the goalie to concentrate when he is flat on his back. Hutson for all his talent needs to learn how to use his 'equalizer', playoff hockey is take no prisoners and we will not advance with this lineup. Dobson will disappear, Hutson and Caulfield will get hammered, Dobes will get knocked out of the game. Hard to understand what seems so obvious to many of us and MSL cannot grasp it. Tough to watch.

  11. Arber has to be in uniform, no ifs, ands or buts. No two ways about it. Otherwise, not only the Canadiens won't do damage in the playoffs, they might not get there in the first place.

  12. The only thing better than one Xhekaj is having two Xhekajs in the line up. MSL a terrific player’s coach but Caufield, Hutson, Gally are going to get wallpapered to the boards during the playoffs.

  13. Yes we need Arber. Give him some games. Aside from his toughness, he has the hardest shot on the team. If they gave him a chance to develop I think he’d have an offensive side to offer in addition to his tough play.

  14. This is what happens when you take Xhakej out of the lineup. Sure, Struble had a couple of good games, but without the Sheriff, this team gets bullied. If St. Louis wants to play a smaller, more offensive lineup, he and management need to be prepared for the consequences.

  15. I’d rather see Florian in the lineup than Arber. Kid's a real throwback, and you can tell he’s hungry.

  16. Arber is done until next season unless someone gets injured or he gets traded.

He gets caved in constantly 5v5, brings no offence, and takes too many penalties.

  17. I’m losing my mind watching this stuff going on without Arber around. I’d like to see those two brothers on the bench.

  18. Have anyone ever thought maybe arbor isn’t playing because his ass???? Lmaoo I don’t wanna see random rims because of pressure or back hand turnovers in the slot

Yes his big and tough but cmon what else does he do other than that ?

I’d rather Florian get the call up

  19. Skill is what sells tickets, but they've yet to address team toughness and the defensive system is still glaring weakness imo. I hope I'm wrong come playoff time

  20. I really don’t think Dobson is that good of an acquisition. Every time a game got a little psychical he’s visibly intimidated. It’s going to be a lot worse in the playoffs. We have two games against TBL before the end the of season. TBL will do everything they can to hurt our stars before the playoff series against them. We will be pushed around again, we aren’t built for the playoffs. And I’m sorry but Xhekaj playing 4 mins a game is not the answer. He’s not great defensively and he’s definitely gone this summer.

  21. Yeah I feel Marty just doesn’t believe that team toughness is important. I 100% agree both Xhekaj bros in this lineup makes the overall team WAY better.

  22. Anyone who watched the last game and thinks the next guy to come out of this lineup should be Veleno is insane. Wheels, forecheck, hitting. We all love Gally but he is the odd man out next time someone has to sit.

  23. agree HJ! xhekaj bros, yeah finally doby starts! wonder whats up w laine he's training again. STANLEY COME HOME

  24. Hughes knew Dobson had the physicality of a neutered Hobitt when he acquired him. Lane the mouse with a heart of Lion should not have to come to Doby’s defence. The Habs management knew from last Year they needed to get bigger and much more physical. You won’t win with 3 Smurfs-Carrier, Hutson and 6’4” Papa Smurf Dobson on the back end. You put results ahead of development – big mistake. Wifi should have played a regular shift all Year – mistakes and all to see what you have. Robidas must go. When Carrier is relegated to your 7th D man then you have a playoff squad. DEI doesn’t work in the NHL. Man on Man on the D zone requires balance, size, mobility and grit. Habs aren’t there.
