Sam Lafferty not scoring is not news, he never was in the NHL to score points, he's been there to hit, forecheck, back check, shut down the other team's top players. ANY points he gets are a pure bonus. That's why it was so odd that Tocchett ever had him on a top 6 role with Pettersson. Baffling in the extreme as there were other players that were a much better option for that spot.

Don't forget the Jason Dickinson trade that canucks also gave Chicago a 2nd round pick to get ride of him. Chicago traded him to Edmonton for a first round pick this year.
Also if you look at Calgary line up a good number of their up and coming stars is due to trades with canucks or the canucks not signing their own veteran who then signed with Calgary. Calgary eventually turned those players into picks and other star players.
The amount of mismanagement by the Canucks organization is absolutely ridiculous.

All to get a 2nd round exit in the playoffs.
It just says Mikheyev is not a playoff performer and the Canucks are lucky to trade him away along with Lafferty; EP40 is not much better but an overpaid playoff underperformer.
Personally I think Allvin should be fired, best trade in the last while was the Hughes trade and that was all Rutherford.

Every pick outside the top 3 picks is a hit and miss. Take 2014 virtanen was picked before nylander and Larkin and McCann was picked right before Pasta.
Having draft picks is a coping mechanism.
