Are You Concerned About Sabres Slide? | The Jeremy and Joe Show
Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase react to the Sabres second straight OT loss as they fall to the Boston Bruins 4-3 in OT. The guys discuss Luukkonen’s night as he could’ve likely had two of the four goals against, and Owen Parker shares some goalie insight. The guys then discuss how much concern fans should have about the slight speed bump in the last couple games. They highlight the trend of late goals against and blown leads in the 3rd period as a concern.

Yes. I am, to be honest, and I know that's silly to say. They have been on FIRE for so long, having two losses in a row, both OT ones, does concern me from a psychological one in their minds. In the back of their heads they must have been thinking "one of these days we will HAVE to cool off", but now that there are two losses in a row, well, it concerns me.
Shouldn’t have messed with the lineup.
IMO they’re bad at 3 on 3 because the personnel (namely Tage and Dahlin) they use are often very susceptible to trying to dangle/create in a way that opens them up to odd man rushes. Last night, using Krebs to faceoff and then going with Tuch and McLeod almost seemed like more of a defensive approach to shut down Pasta and McAvoy, which is just a fools errand when an opponent has all that space.
I’m not sure why Norris, Ostlund, Benson, and Doan haven’t been given more of a look in these scenarios, especially Norris. These guys are far less tentative on offense, have decent enough shots, and have the speed and tenacity on D to be useable in these positions. I get that they’re not your “leaders,” but some of those guys might be lagging due to their heavy usage throughout the year.
To come out flat against Boston is disappointing, now they they have confidence that they can beat us on our ice. Not good! This is like 2010 all over again, a 1st round loss to the Bruins
Three weeks ago when you watched them their speed was phenomenal. They look slow, lethargic.and sloppy.
they hit a number of posts last night, as well…"slide" is clickbait

Isn't it awesome we are upset about OT losses…good to be aSabres fan.
I understand the points being made, don't disagree including the issues with Stanley, but regardless, I will continue to keep everything in perspective. That being the Sabres are finally making the playoffs after 14 years, they're playing meaningful hockey this late into the season for the first time since I graduated high school, and that if still wrestling away a point is considered a downturn after their insanely hot 40 past games I'll take that
Sports are about ebbs and flows, look at the Braves in 2021 getting hot in the second half of the season to a World Series, or the Giants in 2007 and 2011 got hot going into the playoffs. The Florida Panthers in 2 of the last 3 seasons getting hot going into the playoffs
The Sabres have 10 more games to build a successful playoff gameplan. The seeding in this format for Buffalo doesn't matter, just get in and beat who's in front of them
Classic WGR fear mongering
I noticed during a couple of the scrums on the ice, that stanley was the last guy to join in which is the exact opposite of what wed want from him
On the jack Adam’s awards I just have to say as a lightning fan it was not just Heddy and Point who were hurt this season. The top 3/4 defensemen were out for a long time. McDonough and Heddy missed more than 30 games. Cernak missed a bit of time and so did Lilleberg who’s bery helpful to the team. They were playing with AHL defensemen half the season. Also on forward Hagel , Cirelli , and Paul missed a few games. Paul missed the beginning of the season and got injured again and just got back. Also Vasy missed a few games too. Jojo had to step in and even played back to back games. Cooper was the front runner midway through the season for jack Adam’s award b/c bolts were number one at the time in man games lost. I know you don’t follow lightning closely but they’ve been dealing with injuries all season and are where they are now even with those injuries. You would’ve thought it was impossible to do without your main defensemen. Just after the trade deadline was the first time lighting had a full healthy roster for both forwards and defense. I’d like cooper to win it but the panel on tnt that was just their opinion doesn’t mean cooper will win it. I’ve heard Rindy luffs name actually more than cooper now that the sabres have risen up the standings.
Slide ? They have lost once in regulation since the Olympic break.Come on !
It's hard to win in OT when you don't touch the puck because you're just straight up bad at face-offs. Better than we were, but still bad. Not the total reason but a contributing factor.
They looked so outta sorts
We gave them 2 goals…terrible defense and turnovers! Has Norris done anything for this team?
Too conservative. Not good enough transition just flipping the puck out and icing it
Too loose on defense and don’t wanna hit. Who cares what other people outside the building think about coach of the year. All that matters is the people in the building how they feel
McLeod has looked like shit for weeks!! Hes the only one im worried about. Hes refusing to shoot as usual but it feels like he is losing nearly every puck battle, he has had uncharacteristic giveaways every period, and his coverage in the defensive zone is sloppy. Idk what’s going on with him but he’s hurting us. I believe he appeared to be responsible for 2 of the guys who scored because they were shooting uncontested last night.
Only wgr would think that the sabres are sliding while still getting a point every game.
