Boomer and Rhett are joined by TSN’s Jamie “Noodles” McLennan to break down the Ottawa Senators’ massive win over the Detroit Red Wings and what it means for their playoff push. The guys also discuss the impressive rookie debut of Carter Yakemchuk, who picked up a goal and an assist, and debate whether the Sens could make some noise if they secure a spot in the postseason.

This video is honestly amazing lmao
Yakemchuk doing whatever the hell he wants like Rhett at your Calgary local golf course out there.
Can Pinder do some digging to confirm my suspicion?
I don't think the Eastern Conference is stronger than the Western Conference. No need to change playoff format. Western Conference; specifically Pacific Division teams on average have much higher travel distance per season than Eastern Conference teams.
In a "compressed" schedule season, younger NHL teams tend to perform better than normal. Team travel distance and younger team average age has artificially distorted this season's standings.
2 Examples:
Buffalo travels the least and has younger average age than most teams. I think Buffalo will struggle in playoffs since both team will travel the same. And historically older teams experience more success in playoffs.
Edmonton travels the most of any team per season … travel distance has negatively affect Edmonton performance this season. I expect Edmonton to find success again this playoff season (not necessarily win SC, but at least win a few rounds).
