When will you old establishment hacks at the Toronto Sports Network realize the Leafs are never going anywhere. They're never going to do the right thing. I thought Vancouver was bad! Even they with the Aquilinis are ACTUALLY doing something properly for once. What a joke. I realize its for clicks in the GTA but this is a waste of time 😂
The problem is the leafs have tried to win with these players for basically 10 years and won what nothing trade the overpaid players back the coach and build his team because this team ain’t working plus you can try and change the coach again and again but it is the players that are failing

Nobody at MLSE even knows what the present is. Treliving is f'ing clueless due to his thinking they were on heater prior to the Olympic break and assuming they'd be buyers at the deadline. If i'm Mathews i'm demanding a trade ASAP – there should be no wondering about next season and what the team will do, there are no quick fixes, they have near zero draft capital this year and don't have their own 1st round picks for the next two years. They have dug a hole so deep that no outsider even wants to be a GM of this pathetic franchise.

Treliving has been an utter failure with making this team better. Like others before they hinge their job on the core…I mean, having some star players (regardless if it works) is the MO of Leafs Nation. Let's sell jerseys, do some community work, meanwhile, let's treat this core as the second coming. LOL…what a joke this club is. Notice I don't say team as that would be an insult to actual NHL clubs competing for the cup.
Treliving went all in last season with his trades and mortgaged the future of the Leafs. Minten playing well in Boston. Carlo not what he was supposed to be. Laughton gone and you gave up a 1st rounder for him and Carlo. So Treliving gambled and he lost. He should be gone in my opinion. If you keep Berube as a coach then you need Berube type players. Right now you are trying to put a sqare peg in a round hole. In my opinion Berube's style is not going to work unless he changes a bit too. They need fast puck moving defenceman. Not giants that sit there and block shots and bull doze people from out in front of the net. The game is played different now and the rules have changed. Good Luck this summer Maple Leafs!!!!

Agree Craig…..the Leafs are a dysfunctional team BUT even more important the Leafs exude a CULTURE of dysfunctionality & have for years. A culture of dysfunctionality is worse than simply a dysfunctional team. It reflects a deeper, more insidious problem.
I honestly thought Berube was a great choice to break the mode of cultural dysfunctionality with the Leafs BUT it's hard to do this when 75% of the players especially the "core 4" are content with being dysfunctional & existing as GODS in that culture with a "who cares" mentality as long as "I'm getting paid"….RIGHT WILLY!!!!!!
Sorry to be so blunt but that, IMHO, is at the heart of the problem.
When a team is mired in such dysfunctionality the solution is to clean house & build a new culture with hungry players with new attitudes. The Leafs have valuable assets to trade to begin the rebuild.

The first one to go is Treliving He failed the Team & Fans by not making good decisions He had a First place team last year & brought them to last in their division. I'd start there, then let the New Manager make the decisions that need to be made about Coaches & Players one step at a time

When the leafs brought in Brendan Shanahan I was so pumped I thought finally we are getting a team like the way he played and when Lou came in it seemed like we were going in that direction. When Lou left IMO that’s when things started to go sideways and no matter what kind of house we built the foundation wasn’t strong enough. This team has isn’t the right team for Craig

Treliving should be fired, but Pelley does not give me any confidence that he knows hat to do. Treliving is the reason they are dysfunctional
Spoiler Alert, Mathews ain’t resigning, and that decision was made the day he likely found out Marner was leaving, which was long before July 1 2025. There’s nothing wrong with the Coach, it’s the teams ability to consistently play his game. They did last season by winning the division and should have beaten Florida, but the last 4 games of that series, the old Keefe/Dubas Leafs showed up .
Button always was first to defend Toronto's ability to generate offense in the playoffs…
