He's been diagnosed with a Grade 3 MCL tear and a quad contusion in his left leg: Out for the rest of the year.
This is the type of hit that's ended careers (ask Cam Neely). Knee on knee is one of the dirtiest hits in hockey, espcially when the knee makes contact just above the kneecap. The fact the he made no effort to make contact with his houlder and you can see him sticking his knee out even further just before he makes contact shows clear intent to injure. This isn't basketball. Hockey players move way faster, and are basically covered in hard plastic shells. This was the equivalent of taking a baseball bat to the guy's knee. Hockey players know this, which is why whoever does it typically ends up on the recieving end of a hailstorm of fists. Toronto's response here was pathetic.

The Leafs play the ducks on the 30th which is outside the 5 game sit out. Lets hope there will be retribution for that hit. Who do the Leafs have that is gonna step up?
Like I said during the Olympics, Gundas (GOONdas) has been dirty for a long time. Back in the day he would have been subjected to a righteous-retribution beating for a "hit" like this. (Think Semenko and Gretzky.) But there is no-one on the Leafs who could take GOONdas on for injuring their captain. So sad. No real character on the team, and nothing to replace Mitch Marner's 100 point regular season points total from last year equals NO PLAYOFFS FOR YOU!
So if you're a doctor why do you need to make money by creating YouTube commentary on a sport that you admitted to know nothing about?

When Radko comes back from the 5 game suspension, he's way more effective because all scorers will need to be afraid of him going forwards if he can get away with this.
Matthews put himself in tgat position last second. Otherwise shoulder on shoulder hit.

If that was Celebrini do you believe that he would only get 5 games …if this was a Kadri when he was a leaf player he would have got more than five guaranteed ..this guy has it out for the Leafs since he's been in charge no teams have more suspensions than the Toronto Maple Leafs the least physical team in the league yet when the Montreal player attack the leaf player because he believed he gave a knee to Montreal player.. he attacked the player no game suspension Montreal player and that player is a dirty player since he's been in charge of player discipline the leafs players as a team.. have been suspended more than any other team in the NHL I find that hard to believe.. that pretty well guarantees that this guy hates the Leafs the Leafs.. if that's not a 10 to 15 game suspension then what is what kind of rules did they have in this game this guy should lose his job asp

Gudas is such a dirty player. I think this is his 5th suspension. No place in hockey for this kind of play. You can end a guy’s career with a hit like this
