The Montreal Canadiens delivered a statement win at the Bell Centre, crushing the New York Islanders 7-3 in a massive Eastern Conference showdown.
Cole Caufield stole the show with a hat trick and five-point night, continuing his elite goal-scoring season and pushing toward the NHL scoring race. Juraj Slafkovsky added two goals and two assists, while captain Nick Suzuki chipped in with four assists in a dominant offensive performance.
After a tight game early, the Canadiens completely took over in the third period, scoring four unanswered goals and exposing the Islanders defensively. Kaiden Guhle and Alex Newhook also contributed, while Jacob Fowler held steady in net.
For the Islanders, goals from Emil Heineman, Simon Holmstrom, and Matthew Schaefer weren’t enough, as Ilya Sorokin struggled and was eventually pulled.
With the win, the Canadiens continue to surge in the playoff race, while the Islanders take a major hit in the standings.
🔥 Is this the Canadiens’ most complete performance of the season?
🔥 Is Cole Caufield becoming a true NHL superstar?
🔥 Are the Islanders starting to collapse at the worst possible time?

Great show guys !! The best
female here ~ the more hair the better ~
The Habs need to get some wins against teams that are ABOVE them: Carolina and Tampa Bay. If they lose all these games, they might miss the playoffs.
GUY,GUY,GUY
BORN in 1947
Can we get behind the following on chants :
GoHabsGo = Let’s go! Step it up !
Olé Olé = momentum chant… keep it up. (Could be down in the game but pushing).
Nanana = We smoked you, you can go home now.
In 100 Saturday games, Cole Caufield has 60 goals and 36 assists.
What do we do about secondary scoring
Still not enough
Slaf is now the 2nd best player on the team
I'd like to watch the Habs games on TV, however, they are all blacked out in Alberta. I'm not sure why the NHL does this. 😮
hey as camera person on crew for the victoria royals home games for just over 10 years ~
when regina came to victoria in bedards last whl season ~ all victoria cheered him despite him scoring against us ~
the arena was sold out & extra security ~
bedard only got 2nd star with a hat trick & 1 assist & his line mate tanner howe got 1st star with 4 goals + 2 assist ~
i was on coach cam on the media level & beside me were some of the young interns (?) staff from regina pats ~ victoria put up a good fight altho we lost 9-5 ~
and its funny but as victoria kept scoring their goals these young men beside me seriously cheered for us when we scored against regina as victoria cheered both teams ~
it was a fantastic nite ~
also caught a glimpse of cole reschny when he came up from his u18 team as a 15 year old to play at the end of the royals 2023 season ~
i was impressed by him & happy to see him doing so well these days ~
at the tyme i was on the royals crew newhook was playing for the victoria grizzlies jnr a team ~
i got to meet his parents once when they came up to media level to check out our set up & control room ~
excited when he won a cup with colorado ~
& for bowan byram too playing for avacado ( my name for the colorado avalanche ) in his rooky season ~
when bryram came to victoria with the vancouver giants he was always a danger on ice ~ i often thot to myself > go to colorado already ~
more dangerous to victoria royals was draisaitl playing for kelowna rockets ~ dreaded when he stepped on the ice because there was another point against us ~
lots of fun working in whl & ohl ~
Hey guys seriously we're not going deep in playoffs with this group of players on roster it's not about scoring goals it's playing team defense till that's solved were not winning Cup sorry
Put Bolduc with kapanen and demidov
Not much being said about it, but, the Canadiens got absolutely smoked in that Mailloux trade.
Gentlemen I’m reading a lot about McTavish in the doghouse again and with McQueen coming, he might be available again! Wouldn’t he fot well between Hage and Demidov if you could pull off a trade without including Hage !
Enough with Montembeault. We'd have at least 6 more points if he had even played just avg.
Pittsburgh had 2 first lines with Crosby and Malkin and they won 3 Stanley Cups.
Steve Shutt, The Flower, great goal scorers. The team still needs more skill on the bottom 3 lines. We need : 1 hardrock Dman, 1 top center for 2nd line, 2 big physical forward players to forecheck. We should bring up Florian and Blais for the playoff run! They will pay dividends. If they don't trust Arber on the back end, give him a try on the 4th line. Why not? He has the hardest shot on the team, can be a net front presence, and will help our smaller forwards get some respect up front. Give him a Try. If it doesn't work, then trade him but give him a shot up front first!
I feel that Slaf would have same points on the second line and with someone on the first line they would have the same impact. Slaf does not look good on the first line.
Montreal needs Pavol Regenda on the 4th line
No Brother! Well done Shaun🎉!
Potentially a random observation but I think Guhle was the 2nd best player on the ice last night. I recognize I'm a bit biased in that I've been waiting for Ghule to finally get back to his expected level and he's finally stacked 3 games together where is noticeable for all the good reasons. He made big hits, held his ground when pressured, skated faster then most when needed, and was finally rewarded with a goal & 2 assists. We can't say for sure that he's back to normal but he's finally trending in the right direction. Other D can be forgiven because they don't have what Ghule brings. Ghule has to be the best d-man game in, game out, he's never going to be a 70pt dman, but he's far better at D than all the others and he has to bring that level every game.
Hanky would be great on the bottom six with his dogged determination. GoHabs go. Great job guys. This is the best Hab’s channel by a long shot.
Hey Marco, could you please ask Caufield and his line mates study hi-lites of Pavel Datsyuk offensive moves…..the Magic Man….to add those extra moves and goals this season.
These guys along with Demidov and Hutson have the talent and patience to pull off these moves.
8 more wins will get the team to 102 points this season which will be the cutoff for the playoffs this year in the Eastern Conference
Potrebujú posilniť obranu a ešte jedného brankára k Dobešovi. Pozdrav zo Slovenska.👏🇸🇰👍
O, and its clearly time we can name that goalline level top shelf hit a hole the size of a pea "The Caulfield". NOBODY makes that shot like Caulfield does., Its the equivalent of Draistl's 'down low' 1 timer in that he's got it patented. And its not just a question of just taking a lot of shots, he uses that position, the threat of the pass to Slafs and just a small shift in position to get the goalie off the post and BOOM! In the net. Caulfield's eyesight, awareness and just stupid fast release makes it practically a given he'll score. It's poetry in motion watching him set up that shot.
The Oilers are screwed almost to the same level TO is today and will be at that level in 2 years. The Oilers have no assets, no goaltending and no young studs coming to support McDavid. So I'll go so far as saying that McDavid is actually 'untradeable', why? Because the asking price would devastate any team that wanted to trade for him. Think about what the Habs would have to give up to get McDavid and what that would do to the team, then apply that to any team in the NHL that might have the assets to get him. The only way a team can acquire McDavid is if the Oilers agree to not maximize his trade value, AND depending on when the trade occurs you've blown up your team for 1 maybe 2 SC runs (short of a 'resign'). McDavid will play out his contract and become a free agent, at that point the Habs can strike and sign him to the $20M per he will command.
