  1. Lmao haven't watched since the Florida series. This is what I expected lmao it's sad. Went from coming sooooooo close to making a final last season to this disaster

  2. Poor Joseph Woll- Ottawa outshot his team by a factor of OVER 3x (>3:1 ratio)! I wonder why they started him in both games, on back-to-back nights (why not Anthony Stolarz?)…

  3. Stop thinking that the team is going to stand up for captain underpants. He has never stood up for anyone. Lead by example right ? That’s who everyone wanted to lead the team right ? Lead them thru the playoffs right ?
Retool around that clown again , that’s the right thing to do

  4. Oh- so that's why Stolarz didn't play, tonight (after watching the video of him taking a puck to the throat, at 18:46). Maybe #88 should have saved his shots like THAT… for the OTHER TEAM's goalie… during the ACTUAL GAME.

  5. If you think tanking this year is a good idea that means you think this core is an 18year old kid away from contending. The absolute worst thing that could happen to this franchise is they get a top 5 pick this year. That happens and this team will not compete until 2040.

The smart thing is to give up the pick this year to Boston, give up the pick next year to Philly and trade everyone in the summer of 2027 and tank for 2028 draft.

  6. I came here to say I usually only come here after leaf losses. Now they need to lose I only want to come here for leaf wins.

  7. This is a long post/rant, but, are my honest thoughts, and I realize likely no one cares what I think.

Just call the show "Let's pile on Willy Talk", Sam and JD, Willy's middle finger moment was a lot more likely at the media like yourself who act like a bunch of wild dogs hunting prey. I'm not saying he deserves no criticism, he's brought on some himself, but, the amount in comparison to others is laughable, The last 3 episodes Willy played poorly and deserved criticism in one, both of you trying to pretend Berube has been excellent to him, which may have been the silliest take I've heard, because there is only proof to the opposite. He played well last game and was chastised by Sam, and this one where he accidentally hits a goalie high and now is getting lambasted again, even by the broadcast, Craig Simpson is so dramatic with his Willy takes, he played decent in the game, but, that is ignored.

The amount of condescension you both have talking about Willy in any context is obvious and isn't presented toward any other player on this team, a team I might add who has stunk from top to bottom. Matthews, Knies, Tavares and Mo have all had worse years than Willy. Matthews is given the injury excuse, the poor line-mates excuse, Knies injury excuse, Mo and Tavares have been given their fair share of criticism always ending in a he's a good guy. Willy gets the injury excuse for a game or 2 then it's back to he's lazy, doesn't care. While the rest of the team looks uninspired and doesn't look like they care is of course ignored and I'm talking pre-Matthews injury, he (34) has looked uninterested the entire season, why isn't he lazy? why isn't there a harsher rhetoric about a 13.5M dollar player unable to drive his own line? Willy has played with a slow, aging, but, still decent Tavares and a mishmash of 3rd-4th liners on the left side for like 8 years, most of those years getting better, and generating his own offense. Seems like there's higher expectations put on the guy who doesn't regularly wear a letter than there is the actual leadership group.

There's a reason Nylander fans, like myself (I like other players too) get annoyed by media members like the both of you, it's because you are targeting Willy and it's not subtle, it's clear you don't like him and haven't liked him for years. Whether he plays well or doesn't it won't matter to you because you've decided he's the next one on your chopping block to pile on and I find it embarrassing that it seems to be standard practice for some supposed professionals. Also, mocking fans is sad JD, you are actually doing what you insinuated Nylander did. So tired of the horrible attitude you both bring.

Just an aside Sammy looks like Vanilla Ice today.

  8. the cope around 12 minutes is crazy. Dennis Gilbert borderline nhler gets hurt on a clean hit and you are comparing it to the leafs lack of reaction to matthews. sad

  9. I wish more goalies would wear the Patrick Roy style hanging neck guard. So many goalies leave their necks/throats exposed.

  10. OEL is the best. One of the only positives this year.
I wanted Pezzetta in the game to cause havoc after the Brady comments, but why at this point. Remember what he said next year when it matters. Let the season end on a whimper.

  11. Guys, consider some people are not hockey experts. Does the goalie not wear a throat guard in warmups? I understand it is absurd to shoot high in warmups, but does the goalie not have protections in case? All blame to the shooter of course, but he wasnt fully equipped to avoid injury?
