And who was it that coughed the puck up for the goal lol? Man that was a crushing loss as a 14 year old blues fan. If I recall they only had to win one more game and Detroit came back and won 2 or 3 games. In retrospect though I don't know that they beat the Avalanche in the conference finals. Man they were good.
Wonder if Babcock would’ve been remembered the same way in Detroit had they not won in 2008. Keenan seemed to take it to another level in StL (and after). Was all forgiven in NY? I’m not really familiar with his rep in Phi/Chi.
Consensus seems to be Wayne definitely would’ve re-signed w StL if it weren’t for Keenan, right? Janet was from the area and they still own a house there I believe.

I think messier was the only one who ever liked playing for keenan.
I don't think they weren't beating Colorado in the conference finals. That Avs team was very very good.
well said tony
He should have went to Hockeytown.
I FORGOT Gretzky played in St Louis! Yep- 18 games. Then he took off to the Rangers.

The statement about winning the Cup is true. It akso saved that Babcock and Tortorella
The Golden Brett!
I am so glad Bowman went to Detroit and not that idiot
not even Gretzky could help the Rangers…..Mackinnon or Macdavid can't either….hope they stay away and don't ruin their careers
Detroit didn’t win the cup the year.

I wonder if these guy's have any wild Bob Gasoff stories? It was sad that he died in that motorcycle accident in St. Louis.
