  1. You'd think that James Hagans would play for Boston soon

However, I'm guessing Boston would rather him be a first line player in PVD, be on their first PP & PK, play in all situations, take a leadership role & play in what could potentially be a very competitive & long Providence playoff run

Honestly, that'd probably be the best thing for Hagans development wise, while it'd also prevent Boston from having to burn a year off his ELC

The issues are is one, Hagans seems to want to play in the NHL now

And two, Boston could use his skill in their lineup

I'd say again that James Hagans likely plays in Boston soon but potentially spends the playoffs in the AHL without burning a year of his ELC

But if Hagans plays & gives them a spark, he likely won't be playing in PVD anytime soon

Reichel? He'll stay in if he produces, he won't if he doesn't. Based on Reichel's NHL career to date, he probably sits soon

Boston might not even make the post season still though so where & if Hagans & Reichel play in Boston might not matter very long anyway

They're 4 post season spots with 6 teams fighting for them

CAR & TB are probably in

MTL & CLB probably have the most talent after CAR & TB

That leaves BOS DET PIT & NYI likely fighting for the two remaining playoff spots

NYI: 10 of 13 at Home

PIT & DET: 7 of 13 at Home

    BOS: 8 of 13 Away

BOS has been a below .500 road team all year

PIT & DET: Easy schedules remaining

NYI BOS & CLB: Hard schedules remaining

Boston could easily make it into the playoffs still

However, to do so they'll likely have to play above .500 on the road

Again, something they've failed to do all year

    AND…

Be above or at the minimum .500 versus the following teams on their remaining schedule:

DET TB(2) CLB (2) BUF CAR MIN & DAL (6 of those 9 games are on the road)

Boston seems to have the toughest path to a post season berth amongst BOS MTL CLB DET NYI & PIT

The DET & both CLB games seem like they're close to must wins for Boston

Boston also only has 6 Wins in their past 14 games (Since Feb. 1st)

Boston was very good in January but since February 1st they've been very pedestrian

    .429 Winning%
    .607 Points %

    6-3-5

    AND…

Boston has a not so great 1-2-3 post Olympics road record

    .167 Winning%
    .417 Points%

Boston 100% has an uphill battle in terms of making the playoffs

So the James Hagans conundrum might solve itself sooner rather than later too

  2. Yup drink the cool aid fools. A 19 yr old inexperienced kid should s not the answer for a cup. Ridiculous. Esp when you still have the angel reece of hockey on the team for 10 mil per gaslight

  3. If you even get 5 goals and a few assists from hagens that could be the difference between winning and losing a lot of the games that we’ve had slip away from us.

  4. When’s the last time the Bruins developed a good forward? I don’t want him to go near providence

  5. I don't see the Bruins making the Playoffs. I would rather Hagens play meaningful games in the AHL & get a taste of Playoff atmosphere. Then give him all summer to prepare for Camp. We've all seen highly touted players come up & get their confidence crushed by the NHL. I doubt that would happen to him because he seems to have confidence to spare, but it doesn't seem helpful to anoint him "The Savior" in a meaningless stretch run.

  6. 1:42
Providence currently has a good roster, with a lot of twenty-somethings that have had to earn their (often few and far between) NHL opportunities, the hard and unheralded way: Brown, Tufte, Blumel, Merkulov, DiPietro, Lysell, Callahan, Poitras.
Hagens can learn a lot from these guys about how one must conduct himself differently as a professional hockey player, instead of an amateur collegiate player.

Unless Hagens (or his agent) is outright demanding that Hagens be shoehorned into the Boston lineup immediately, then the better play is for Hagens to suit up for the P-Bruins, now. Bergeron did it. Krejci did it. Marchand did it. Pastrnak did it. No reason that Hagens can’t, too.
