I’m happy they beat the Canadiens, but I want to see how they handle Boston tomorrow and Ottawa Tuesday, beating them should help all, but secure it especially if Larkin is back by then.
AGAIN though, the rest of the East doesn’t seem like they’re slowing down, for every step the Wings take, the opposition is right on their heels. They have to keep winning, they control their own destiny, but more miracles have to take place in the one or two of the other squads falling apart.
Then and only then, will I say the Wings are playoff bound. They can’t get complacent until after mid April.
I mean only thing making it frustrating is how brutal the East is, any other season and they are next to a lock to get in already. Instead east seeds 4-9 are all within a game of each other.
People bitching about the divison and conference being tight in the one year we are good. Stop. Do you realize what the western conference was when the red wings formed in the 90’s. Iron sharpens iron. I’m glad they are in this gauntlet
7 year turnaround has been tough but you have to look at the state the organization when yzerman took over. They had Larkin and Rasmussen and a couple veterans who were too old to trade. All Hollands draft picks with the exception of Larkin was a bust and they had nothing to trade for more picks or prospects. I'm not saying yzerman is perfect especially when it comes to free agent defensemen. He has been exceptional with drafting talent. NHL is different than NFL where all the top 3 round guys play in year one, nothing is guaranteed. Not to mention they were a half point away from going to the playoffs 2 years ago when it came down to Philly pulling the goalie in a tie game. The Montreal win was the biggest win in years but Saturday will be bigger!
I blame Holland… he put us in the hole so freaking bad. Yzerman has traded and drafted well. Ironically all the guys you like are Yzerman guys and all the guys you hate are Holland guys….
If I may say. Todd McLellan and his staff did a masterful job running lines. It's amazing how much energy these guys have when they have a 3rd and 4th line they can trust… If they get into the playoffs there isn't a team I have seen them play that they couldn't beat in a series.
All this optimism with a just above average team? I'm confused. Let's say they do make the playoffs, which is a stretch. How far will this team really go? Common Detroit. Let's get real.
Not at all. 6 wins out of the last 16 games is far from convincing. They've been tanking since January, long before the injuries. Even if they do stumble into the playoffs, they are going to be rolled in the first round. It will be embarrassing.
Montreal won the cup in ‘93 with pretty much just Roy. Detroit is better than most think, it was going to take the team a bit of time to adapt to new lines

Gibson the backbone but I think Faulk been excellent 2 way d man.
The question should be not do you believe in the Wings ? Is do YOU believe? You Kenny and Rico do YOU? I don’t believe YOU do.

They won one game. It was a good win. But they're still one bad week from being 11th in the conference.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day 🫤🫤🫤
Fans like that Josh guy who called in saying "We" & "Us". 😂
Seriously bro you ain't on the team how about trying to use and say "They" & "Them".
We as fans aren't on the payroll or the team it's hilarious when fans grown ass men say we or us like they are a part of the team 🤡
We are convinced when the slot is locked and not before.
3:30 I agree 100% with that caller Kyle. But naitonal TV has not been kind to us whatsoever

Keep the faith my panicky little b*tches. Kane is going to take the reins and get us there.

No.. until they make the playoffs, im not convinced
Valenti talks about red wings because he has to. Not because he knows anything
