A needle mover would be a GM who believes in the team enough to make more than one good move and then a pylon with a handicap pass and a hockey stick shows that he don't believe enough look at Buffalo's GM! all in!!
The Wings went on a losing skid last year when Copp got hurt. He helps the team win more than what shows on the stat sheet. Getting him back will be huge for our playoff chances, which, as of tonight, are not great. We're essentially in a 3 way tie for the two Eastern Wild Card spots with Columbus and Boston, 14 games over .500. Columbus has a game in hand, and Boston has the advantage over Detroit with more regulation wins, the first tiebreaker.
Where we do have a slight edge is in the remaining strength of schedule. Boston currently has the toughest gauntlet of any NHL team. Columbus is 4th, and Detroit is 6th.
A win against the Habs in regulation would knock them down a notch, from 17 to 16 games over .500, and the Wings would improve to 15 over.
We're already in the playoffs. Buckle up.

We're going to miss the playoffs with more points than the number one seed in the Pacific. I was going to put an emoji here, but I don't know which one best exemplifies the hilarious lunacy of the situation and the absolute dread of it coming to pass.
To win in the east for the next few years, the Wings are going to have to be 7 or 8 wins out of 10 for nearly all 10 game segments.

If copp has a lower vody injury its going to affect his faceoffs and ability to battle for tge puck, which may be the reason mclellan is hesitant to say hes a go anytime soon.finnie looks better than him and larkin on the pk lately. Facts. The wings issue is scoring not defense, what does copp bring and a hobbled copp bring in that situation?
Edvinsson needs to decide whether or not he wants to be a winger or a Defenseman. He keeps pinching in and hes getting caught more than not. Either step up to D and play to his size or move to the wing where you can pinch on the boards all game long….

One thing i cant stand is the casual fan being like "playoffs or bust" like bruh, please tell me the last time the ENTIRE eastern conference was 2-3 games from being flipped on its head. Especially the atlantic division. This year has shown, in any other year, wed be damn near guaranteed a playoff spot right now. Instead the entire division is up for grabs.
Imagine being excited for Copp to come back. The dude on his best day is "mid". This team is cooked. Even if they do get in the playoffs, the Wings are going to get "jail sexed" in the first round.
You know if the commentary , the expert analysis and arm-chair quarterbacks would look on the bright side. Maybe this team wouldn’t be in the position they’re in. Cut them some slack no one is perfect.

🫤He brings sound defencesive structure and he rounds out ALL of the other lines. ALL offence comes from proper defensive STRUCTURE; along with smart offensive decisions ( including passes, well placed dump in's and sccreens, etc). Copp thinks the game way better than MANY fans give him credit for. The proof is in the pudding and we all know what happens when he is out of the lineup. Wake up — SHEEZZZZZ !!!!!
I anticipate a Buffalo and Detroit first round matchup. That would be epic.
