I'm not the least bit upset. Disappointed sure-but if they play like that they'll win the Cup. All 3 matchups vs Dallas-the home team deserved a regulation win-but lost in SO-it happens. Result kinda sucked but process was great. And I knew many fans,& some media-(not you 2-but some local sports media who are far less educated about hockey)-just look at it in a simplistic vacuum. You lost,& it's 2 pt race. You have to add context,& nuance though. 1st of all you deserved better.Hockey is the most unfair & cruelest of all team sports sometimes but Ottenger deserves credit. 2nd of all you don't lose in OT in the regular season. 1 team wins,& 1 team ties,& that 1 pt was big.
Had Dallas say scored on that late PP,& we lost in regulation-Id still say super encouraging process but terrible result. Not only would Dallas be within 1 pt but also gain in tiebreaker with a regulation win. They are still 6 regulation wins back & only have 15 games left. You can't count tiebreaker for sure but highly likely we will have it if it matters. Minny you can count it as they are 14 reg wins behind with 14 games left. For all intensive purposes-we are 3 pts up,with 1 game in hand,& have the "easier" schedule in theory. Doesn't guarantee anything but we play Calgary 3 times, Vancouver,Chicago-far more non playoff teams than not. You have to win the games but Dallas schedule gets tough starting tonight.(or last game vs Utah)-after a relatively soft patch. But ya have to go into Chicago & win.
They are not pushovers-just took both Minny,& Dallas to OT in the last wk.(& of course "lost" to only help us in tiebreaker). But if you get that game (hopefully in regulation)-you could be back in great shape by Sat night. 4 pts up which is essentially 5-cuz Dallas goes into Minny on Sat.Also remember both these teams were missing 4 key guys tonight. Dallas gonna get 3 of 4 back sometime before the playoffs-including 2 top 6 forwards in Rantanen & Hintz. Also should get bottom 6er Faska back but sounds like not til right before playoffs. Seguin will be around the team-I assume he already is-but only as quasi ast coach-his season is over. AVS supposed to get all 4 guys back sounds like in next wk to 10 days. Including 2 top 6 forwards in Landy,& Lehkonen…& 2 bottom 6 guys in Colton,& LOC.(Colton kinda more "middle 6".)
Point is-great game,& result helps Dallas stay right in the race. But we still control this race,& these teams will look significantly different if they meet in 2nd round-both will be better,& deeper. (assuming no other injuries but we can't predict that) Tough thing for Colorado is all our injuries are at same position of wing. Means ya have 2 guys in Kadri,& Roy-not only having to get used to playing on a new team but also out of position at wing,& at least 1 line higher than theyill be when the AVS get healthy. Also means tougher matchups. Not a great night result wise but super encouraging processwise,& not disastrous result wise either. Dallas undeservedly gains a half game but still is just as buried in the tiebreaker for all these gimicky past regulation wins.
I gotta be honest, and I love ya Raj, but every time I hear you cuss it sounds like how a kid who just learned how to cuss throws them out randomly into a conversation 😂 it cracks me up every single time
Avs are missing the finishing touch right now while 62 and 92 are out. What a fun hockey game. Can we just start the playoffs next week? Ha! Great show as always guys!
The Avs dominated in shots, shot attempts, scoring chances, expected goals, the only regulation goal Dallas scored was a lucky bounce, and they won in the skills competition that goes away in the post season.
Or as Stars fans would say, a dominant Dallas win.
The copium in these comments is crazy but hey just like your golden boy said right "we were the better team you be the judge" 😂😂😂😂 also Rantanen and Hintz didnt even play

The goalie who’s beaten the Avs 2 years in the postseason “barely has an advantage” uhh ok not sure where that logic is coming from lmao
