  1. I'd say no to Joseph just because of the logjam. Not that I wouldn't love him back, but there doesn't seem to be space anymore.

I feel like, for the Hughes trade, Ohgren looked much more like the throw-in than Rossi. The Canucks have talked about Rossi for a while. Agreed that he has been as good as, if not better than, advertised, though. I'd say a 2C for the future.

  2. With POs numbers, it makes more sense to find a bruiser on the backend for the 7th defenseman. It can't be solely put on Douglas shoulders to be the Canucks peacemaker.

  3. For PO Joseph, I've not really seen enough of him to really gauge what he can do for us, but if we were to keep him, I could see him filling in as a utility defenseman who can move the puck, given he can play either side effectively.

For Rossi, he appears to be the 2C we started this season lacking and much as I like Chytil, that guy's too injury prone to be anything other then extra scoring off the 4th line at this point, or a backup 2C in case Rossi or Pettey gets inured for a few games here and there. But that utility is really not needed for more then a year or 2 at most, with guys like Raty, Sassen and Cootes in the system who could fill that role by then. As for those bellyaching about Rissi's size, you know who another famous Canuck was who was small but was a top line centre? Cliff Ronning, and I don't hear a peep about 'b-b-but he was too small". It's not about the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog. We had Jolly Green Giant JT Miller and the guy had to take personal time due to hurt feelings, and suffer through 2 months of him drifting through the games until he'd get inevitably benched by the end of the 2nd period. If Rossi keeps doing for us what he is now, and what he did for the Wild last season when injuries temporarily drove him to step up and play a bigger role, then who cares about his size? He comes to play every game and that's what really matters. I'd rather have a small guy with a big heart then a big guy with no heart but a big temper.

EDIT: And you were on the Mark with this video. I award you with a bigger slice of the Pye! 🥧
