Cozens goaltender interference on Fowler – Tough Call Review
Dylan Cozens drove the net with the puck and chased his own rebound. In the process he sent goaltender Jacob Fowler sprawling. He picked up two minutes for goaltender interference.
A player lowering their center of gravity sure seems like a player bracing for low contact. If Fowler is coming out to defend his crease, what choice does Cozens have but to change his level to avoid being knocked off the puck?
I disagree its a fight for a 50/50 puck, Cozens has possession , pulling the puck out of the crease before taking a backhand shot and then leaning into the goalie. Its contact inside the crease after taking a shot … if this is not goalie interference, anyone can just take shot in close to the net and then continue forward and bump the goalie. To be honest, I could even see this being 2 minutes as there is a decent case to be made the Cozens made no attempt to avoid the goalie after the shot AND even looked to lean into contact (inside the crease). In the end its all about consistency on a forward looking basis … if they call this interference going forward (even in the playoffs), I don't think people are going to complain.

He drives into fowler.
Fowler is completely in his crease though. Is that not kind of a factor?

Got a question about the other cousin.
Am i the only one who saw cousins leaving his feet almost every hit this game?
I agree though this one is 50/50 for me and feels like mackinnon aftermath
