Oilers fan here. No thank you to Binnington. We need an upgrade in goalie, and he's not that. Short stints at high stakes arent the reliable indicator. We need consistency over a long period. .868 save percentage this year aint it. Even Jarry's save percentage is higher and hes not been good.
Bouchard is a peg on the board for McDavid and Draisitl to bounce it off. He doesn't play well as a defence man or a forward. Yet he is making more than most #1 forwards in the league. Nurse is the same. Both terrible D men.
And they take up most of the cap between them and Wallman. The leadership made terrible deals with ripping off their cap for this. And no space for a Goalie to be paid

People always say this. Not getting it done. Look around alot of teams say this exact same thing. Its hard very hard to win. What Tampa and Florida have done recently is impressive. That isnt normal for the nhl to go to the finals 3 years in a row.
Dallas and Carolina have 2 of the best cores and they havent won shit. The Avs have the second best player and the best Defenseman. They went on one good run and won. As did the capitals with ovechkin.
Florida isnt going to make the playoffs. President trophy jets might not either. Leafs and Devils are out.
Jarry will give you about 10 games a year where he looks like a top 5 talent. The rest of the year he plays like 💩 and he's worse in the playoffs. I'm glad Pittsburgh isn't stuck with that contract anymore.
I love Quick and didn't want to see him go but the Rangers don't deserve him. For that reason I would've liked to see him traded to team that has Cup winning potential
I bet McDavid is regretting signing that team friendly 2 year contract. They probably promised to get better players. I wouldn't be surprised if he asks to be traded by the beginning of next season

What differentiates teams that are winning from teams that are losing is: – Your forwards are doing the scoring – your defense are shutting down high danger chances more often then not. – your goalie is making the consistent medium and low danger saves. – youre getting pucks deep.
Jarry is making saves. Forwards are scoring goals. But the defense isn't defending.
Oil country is doing a lot to sell tickets to see blow out games at home. But they're also not building a team that is going to support each level of the ice. Theyre putting immense pressures on the goalies and the forwards. And pretending the D are just blue line forwards.
Look at Stu now it pitts, he knows he came make those saves, and he knows the D in front of him are doing to be doing what they can to defend from HDCA. And so he's doing a lot better.
Maybe organizational changes are needed in edmonton to realign themselves as a hockey team instead of a globetrotters team.

And you can't blame their problems on him alone. Their goal scorers need to score more goals and their defensemen need to play defense. Everyone needs to pull their weight.
