He's a repeat offender & in my opinion the minimum should have been 10 games.
The fines aren’t high enough and the suspension not long enough, he should’ve got 10-20 games and the total fine equals Matthews per game salary to the number of games suspended.

I'm not a Leaf's fan anymore either, but it was an intentional dirty hit. 10 games would have been a little bit better because he is a repeat offender, 10 games probably would have been more appropriate. What bothers me is fans and the league seems to think that it depends on how good of a player you are on the suspension. That keeps saying oh, he's one of the best players in the league and they put the emphasis on that. It should be anyone that gets injured by a player believed to be intentional. Should get the same discipline whether there are a superstar or a fourth liner

This league is built on superstars not greasy bums like Gudas, Matthews puts people in seats while Gudas puts players in hospitals.
If you are a greasy plug with a history of being one, you should be punished like one. Players like Gudas need to know that they can't run around destroying the best players in the game without massive financial consequences.
Who do people pay to see , stars of the game guys like Gudas ? It was a no brainer it was gonna only be 5 , because more than 5 can be appealed , then you have the stupid situation of the player association defending the offender ?? . Also Gary and Parros don't like egg on their face or the attention of an appeal , they want ' oh here's 5 games , everything is a ok nothing to see or talk about here . Something else not talked about is that some injured players get surgery after a dirty play and are never the same again , either not as strong or worried about re injuring the repair or in the case of a head shot lingering concussion effects . Meanwhile guilty party sits 5 games and comes back rested .
Gudas is a headhunter. He won't even blink at 5 games. Should have got the rest of the season, just like Matthews

F Gudas! And I'm a Ducks fan. IDGAF, Gudas should've been suspended for the year. He's a trash player! I never liked him. He's been suspended numerous times and they gave him only 5 games? GTFOH! Make an example outta him. It's not like it's his 1st or 2nd offense. Player Safety's decision of 5 games is a joke. Someone needs to check on Parros for concussions because that was BS!
