The Canadiens haven’t been out of a playoff spot since before Christmas, but suddenly, making the post-season doesn’t seem like a sure thing. With only a three point cushion, are the Habs in trouble? TSN Hockey analyst Jamie McLennan shares his thoughts.

Keep the bad media juju away from the Canadians, park that in Ontario
Habs are in trouble with the Sens comimg on strong.
Funny to see the media move on to covering other teams since the Leafs are now cooked this season 😅
They beat the goalie but not the goal post's. 🥅 🧎➡️ 🏌

There is certainly a risk of missing, as with any team in the East. But they are still in the driver seat.
Everyone is focused on on how Detroit and Boston are right on their heels now (and Columbus and Ottawa just 2-3 point behind that) after the losses on the weekend, however for them to miss, AT LEAST THREE of those four teams need to continue finishing out hot play and maintain at least 2-3 points higher pace than Montreal for that to happen. Montreal needs about 8 wins (.500 win % to reach ~98 points) to lock in a spot, while MOST of those teams need to play around .571 (Detroit) or better to keep pace…. Not a small feat. (Those games in hand over Boston and Detroit are huge). If any of those teams cool down, it makes it even easier (and Detroit has been struggling without Larkin). Also don’t forget that Tampa is not out of the woods either, they are struggling and only 3-7 in their last 10. The math paints a more optimistic picture than the standings. 😉
That said, the next 2 games will have a massive influence. If Montreal can win both in regulation it almost seals their spot; if they lose both then they are right in the middle of the dogfight. Hopefully they can pick up at least 3 of 4 points in those two (especially vs Boston) and keep cruising.
Struggling against California teams is nothing new for them – this has been a challenge for them since forever. I expect to see a much more energized and synchronized team tonight against the B’s and the bandwagon will fill up again. 😎
They lose tonight…YES

If Dobes loses tonight and Fowler loses the next game, the fans will be begging for Monty.
Crazy considering they are 36-20-10,
