The TNT panel’s take on the Auston Matthews hit and the Radko Gudas suspension numbers. 🤬🤯

  1. So you recorded this on your phone and uploaded it? I figure you have about 12 left before tboth TNT and the NHL make you take it down.

  2. Not a single person responding on ice clearly shows that is a team that is showing up and purely just clocking in, playing and clocking out. No bond, unity or chemistry.

  3. First of all, this happened in a split second. Second, Matthews tried to side step a hit. If he had not, he would have gotten hit flush and flattened, and there would not have been knee-on-knee contact. Gudas leaned in harder to try and complete his hit, and that resulted in knee-on-knee contact. Matthews' reflex was understandable, as was Gudas'. Unfortunately, the latter set him up for what amounts to a cheap shot. I don't believe he tried to make knee-on-knee contact, but his actions also made it unavoidable. I'd call it a very unfortunate reflex at best, and very poor judgment in any event.

  4. After 100 yrs of the NHL disregarding player safety & being a bush league, them ignoring player safety & running a bush lg is rly unexpected!

  5. "Plays on the edge"!?! You're a complete bunch of idiots!! Gudas plays dirty and means to injury opposing players every time out, including his hits on Crosby at the Olympics. He doesn't know any other way to play and the NHL allows it because the execs are gutless worms who don't care about any players, nevermind their best players; you know, the ones that put bums in seats. I'll never watch NHL games again. I have already cancelled both my Sportsnet and TSN subscriptions. And you can count on the fact that I won't be buying tickets to all those overpriced games anymore. The NHL is garbage and has been for years. We're done and you're still idiots.

  6. People are focusing too much on the Leafs response. Yes, it's an issue for the Leafs, but that issue is limited to the team. The league and DOPS is a much bigger issue. Parros' explanation was weak af. He basically said, "I'm ok with only 5 games because I'm ok with it." What? Did he just make his decision based on vibes? I 100% agree that the resulting injury should factor in, especially when the offending player was intentional or wreckless as nearly everyone agrees Gudas was. If the action was clearly accidental or unavoidable, different story. Imagine a scenario where two teams are vying for a playoff spot, or even in the playoffs against each other, one team would be more than happy to trade their goon for the other teams star player, especially if their goon gets to come back after a few games.

  7. The NHL is a joke. Dude should be out for the year. Nobody comes to watch that dude play, yet people from opposing home teams will buy tickets or tune in to watch Mathews. And the narrative is, why didn't someone play slap fight afterwards, like that will make up for a superstar being sidelined.

  8. Panger is a G. And Biz knows the deal with his team because thats how he made a living, he’s probably furious watching that in real time. Gudas is a caveman and always has been. Biz is a gent and thats why everyone loves em so much because of what he just said on live TV

  9. Should be an actual permanent ban from the NHL, not bc of just this hit, because it’s happened now 3 times in his career. Deliberately out to injure players who are professional athletes. They have banned a player before for a cross check to the front of the neck, why they wouldn’t do it for a guy whose done this 3 times now to 3 different players in his career, that deserves a BAN.

  10. When Larkin hit the ice out cold Perron was punched the first guy he saw that’s how you should respond

  11. If you have Matthews on your team or any superstar and they go down dirty or not and you dont drop the gloves or get the get back immediately you have to clean house… I mean Coaches, GM, Players, hell you may even need to burn the stadium down and start over. This is disgraceful. And I hate the leafs. But you got to start over clearly the culture is not there and thats why they haven't won since the invention of the automobile.

  12. The NHL’s disciplinary office is a joke ! Discipline is handed down based upon who you are and in this case, Gudas should be done for the season end of story ! Dirty play, repeat offender. The leafs should be embarrassed and Auston should tell them I’ll never play for this garbage organization ever again ! When fans of other teams say it, it’s pretty bad !
