  1. This is a fun team when they play good, I enjoy it. Yeah they’ll lose but they always find a way to comeback out and keep their composure. Gotta finish strong and that win showed it tonight.

  2. This may be a bit boring. 73 and from Pgh, been living in the UK for a long time. Infrequently I get to watch a live game with games played while I'm asleep. Insomnia usually means I wake up around 4 am. If the pens have played, I can't stop checking my phone for the score. When I woke today, squinting I thought I saw it was 7-2. Had to try and focus to see who had the 7, but wow, fell back to sleep happy.

  3. Heard a lot of cope from the Avalanche fans after the game saying. The Pens didn’t play well the Aves just played bad and lost the game.

  4. I was watching the game on TV, and when the Pens scored, it sounded like a home game. It quite amazing how many visiting games this season have enough Pens at them that you can hear it when they score.

  5. Hey DK……..now that was a game for the Penguins. Having Malkin have the return he did had to happen, he needed to do that after his suspension. But his chemistry with Chinakhov is so apparent! My concern last night was hearing Lizotte was out but the big man filled in and was great, and seeing Accari score yet again just hits different. I wonder where those fans are that wanted Karlsson gone…….and wanted to keep Sullivan? The thing I really noticed was the line up was almost back to normal to back when they were on fire. But I want to highlight one guy, the unsung hero, who is quietly putting together a great season……Anthony Mantha! Look at this guys numbers on the third line with a rookie center, or on the second PP, look at his plus minus! Oh there's one other thing to look at when it comes to Mantha, that smile, he is having fun and you can tell. This would be my one change once Sid got back, Mantha would change places with Rakell on the first line and first PP. He produces where ever you put him, but his size…….and his finish could be the spark plug for line one 5 on 5. Putting Rakell with Kindle and Brazzeau would be a good fit, and takes the pressure off Rakell who isn't producing offensively anyway. Now let's get Sid back!

  6. No doom and gloom from this guy. I’ll run through a wall for this team and all my boys feel the same way. The big 3 are getting another shot at the cup and everyone who pulled their hair out wishing this team would sell the farm and tank can blow it out their asses. Pardon my French.

  7. Gooooooood morning DK 🌄!!!! WOW, is absolutely correct my man, just WOW! And, coming to you from Langley City, BC Canada 🇨🇦, I'll be wearing my Pens Crosby jersey proud 👏 I have two Pens Crosby jersey's and I will be purchasing a Chinakhov jersey soon. Blessings always, Victor 🙏

  8. Toews skating past in the background with the number on his sleeve showing is a nice touch DK

  9. A unique experience…late in the game I went to the restroom. While there I heard a roar of the crowd and figured the Avs had finally scored. Nope, it was the roar of the Pens fans when it became 7-2. ‘‘Twas glorious !

  10. The problem is no one can watch the damn games consistently so how can you be excited when you don't even know.

  11. Constantly wearing the old jerseys is stupid and I think more of an insult to the old teams fans(talking about the nordiques ones here)

  12. Hey DK,,,,I'm not one of your biggest fans, but that was an excellent take ( especially the end) Not that anyone hasn't noticed, but Kyle Dubas has done a masterful job in the construct of the team this year,,,almost every guy he's brought in has played well above their ski's….great job!!!😎

  13. The Pens played their best game of the year! 0 shots allowed in 10 plus minutes in the second period against a loaded Avs team. ENOUGH SAID. I don't want to get a head of myself. But Stanley cup final preview?

  14. Thank you DK. Totally amazing game and the pens energy level, well the score tells a story. My goodness DK, Really great stuff !

  15. watching on TV was awesome to hear all the Pens fans! I am definitely excited about this team especially with Sid coming back for the final stretch. Moving on from Sullivan is all it took for me to buy in.

  16. I was expecting a close, nerve-wracking game at best, but fears of a blowout loss hung heavy on me. Then to see them come out and dominate … well, your headline says it all — WOW!

  17. WOW is right DK! This is a special teams. With no shootouts in a 7 game series my money is on these guys against anybody in a 7 game series.

  18. It’s like they all got the Super Mario mushroom at some point during the Utah game. Sad I didn’t get to see this one as it happened but glad it happened nonetheless.

  19. I'd rather be down to earth about who and what the Penguins are and really enjoy them this season, than go completely overboard and overestimate in any degree. I don't want to become like those bizarre fans you see online for that one specific franchise in southern Ontario.. and no I don't mean Ottawa.

  20. Agree with a lot, but I wish you wouldn't bring fan support into it, DK; the only reason I'm hesitant is because I'm trying not to get my heart broken if they don't make the playoffs with such a solid and likeable team in favor of other teams like the Islanders who can actually win after regulation. God bless ❤

  21. DK I couldn’t agree more with you about the fan reaction! My closest group of friends are all hockey sickos, and none of them want to buy in on this team to get hurt in the spring. To that I say, don’t jump on the bandwagon after we’ve made it. We’re making noise in the playoffs this year, book it.

  22. I’m new here, coming from Steelers side of things, but love the content. And happy I can root for a good home team !

  23. Disappointed that there hasn't been a single mention of the Soderama in a while.

#J1Q: Do you think that your coverage (you and Taylor) of this pivotal roadtrip has brought you closer to the team? Do they see your commitment to covering them as anything other than you doing your job?

    Thanks as always!

  24. It's why hockey is special. When the team is all in, everyone is elevated. Same with all team sports really, but you can see it so clearly in hockey because there are no breaks for substitutions, or change of possession. Hockey is unique in that way.

  25. I love that, before the game, Solovyov said that they had to shutdown the first line and the Avs powerplay….and they did…after that first MacKinnon goal.

  26. Cmon DK. The fans are relieved the penguins are back. No matter what happens- this team has been Fun to watch and they are meeting their on-paper expectations. The weight of the banal Sullivan era is over and the party is back. It’s too pricey to go to home games, but the fans are there. They are back. They are feeling the buzz. It’s been awhile. Thank you dubas

  27. DK, I saw your comment about Denver fans hating when the fans of other teams take over the arena on the live feed, and I'm so glad you elaborated on it with the J1Q. I lived in the Springs from 2016-2018 for grad school, and I attended both games the penguins played in Denver during that time frame. I definitely noticed a disproportionate amount of Pens fans, but I never once experienced what you described. Actually thought it was the most benign setting I've been to as a visiting fan. I don't doubt that it may have significantly changed with the Avs having become a really strong team after I left. I will say I've never been anywhere where people were so obsessed with their status of being a "Native". They make it their ENTIRE personality, which honestly feels kinda weird. If I had a dollar for every bumper sticker I saw that said "Native" during the 2.5 years I lived out there, I could afford to buy the Penguins off of FSG. They truly think it's the greatest place on Earth, despite being mostly a dry, brown desert, and have contempt for anyone from out of state "ruining" it by coming there. Having lived the vast majority of my life in a popular tourist town in your favorite state of Florida, I can empathize to a degree, but those folks take it to a whole nother, weird, level. Definitely has to be a correlation with your experiences of how they feel about the fans of visiting teams. Anyways, I always appreciate getting to hear your comments about things beyond the actual game. Thanks for the amazing coverage of this road trip!

  28. Agree that this team is special!
The elements for success are all there!
Now let us hope that the hockey gods smile apon them favorably.
    ✌❤🤘
