Glad for Laf. His problem was Chris Drury & his endless coaching carousel which tried to turn Laf from a LW to a RW. I remember saying at the time that they should turn Panarin into a RW because he is all over the ice anyway. I'm less sure of Sullivan now than I was at the beginning because I think he overcoaches at times even though he claims he is OK with players going "off grid." As for the World Cup, I won't watch if Russia is banned from having a team participating because, frankly I'm fed up with geopolitical BS intersecting with sport like hockey.
Been a harsh critic of Laffy, ever since his performance nose dived after getting the big contract last season. I won't unsay a word of it, especially as at times he looked like he wasn't trying – or caring. Pre-Olympic break, Laffy was the poster child for the Rangers INCONSISTENCY. If he's now found both heart and his game – hope everybody supports him.
Same for GM Drury. Think he dismembered and demoralized what was once a very good team. That said, if you're going to criticize the bad acts, you should support the good deeds. Not trading Trocheck for table scraps and leftovers was the right decision. Getting Gavrikov has been superb. Waiver pickups have been good with the potential to be better.
