Team grew stale with him in the leadership role (as he essentially was). Wish it had ended differently though. They shouldn’t have tried to win so quickly when they got him. They should have kept building slowly and he could still be a productive first line player here with other stars around him, but they don’t try to develop Kakko and Lafreniere well enough and they needed more young talent at C and D but they started buying and renting instead of building way too early.
