San Jose Sharks Rally as Igor Chernyshov INJURY Overshadows Macklin Celebrini Heroics

San Jose Sharks overcome early adversity with a statement 4-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens, fueled by Macklin Celebrini’s spectacular two-goal, one-assist night. After Igor Chernyshov’s scary early injury—just 28 seconds into the game—the top line saw a massive shakeup, but Celebrini showed true captain potential, rallying the team and earning praise for his leadership and knack for clutch performances against the Canadiens.

JD Young spotlights the Sharks’ penalty kill, now tops in the NHL since the Olympic break, and analyzes the impact of Collin Graf’s three-point night and the continued reliability of goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. Key discussion points include power play trends, line adjustments after Chernyshov’s exit, and why locking up Graf to a long-term deal should be a priority. Are the Sharks poised for a deeper playoff run with this new energy and resilience?

  1. Ned is alpha goalie for this season. Very impressed. Askarov gives up too many soft goals. Ned looks better with same defenseman. Im glad we extended him

  2. Intentional or not, someone should’ve payed for giving Cherny a concussion. Forearm/elbow contact to the head. Ned’s been great. Graf always in the right place at the right time. Mack being Mack.

  3. Couldn't agree more with the "C" on Celebrini. At first I thought a year of Toffoli or Ferraro would be good for him nah Celebrini is my captain.

  4. Musty would be a great add to the Mack and Will line. He is a big, power forward player that can create and score. Plays a good 200 ft game and does the dirty work.
