Are the Playoffs Actually a Possibility for the Winnipeg Jets?
Are the Winnipeg Jets actually still in the playoff race… or is the season slipping away?
After a rollercoaster 2025-26 season, the Jets are still technically alive in the Western Conference playoff picture. Winnipeg currently sits 6th in the Central Division with a 28-28-10 record (66 points) and is chasing the final Wild Card spot with only a limited number of games remaining.
Despite the tough position, the Jets have started to build momentum recently, including a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues where Eric Comrie made 29 saves and goals from Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor helped keep the playoff push alive.
The biggest challenge? Winnipeg is still several points behind the final Western Conference Wild Card spot, meaning they will likely need a massive run down the stretch to have a realistic chance at the postseason.

Even if our chances are low in the playoffs, I really hope we make the playoffs. lol as a huge Jets fan, what’s the playoffs without the white out!!

my take is chevy has made up for past mistakes with his trades to the sabres. removed weaker players and created openings for younger talent.

The Jets have honestly been a decent team since January. The issue is that they had such a terrible November and December, with that ridiculous losing streak that nearly destroyed their season.
Given the position they’re in now, I think they should absolutely be trying to make the playoffs. I know some people want them to tank, but if you have an opportunity to be competitive, you should take it.
If they hadn’t gone on that losing streak and had been earning points at a similar pace to what they’ve shown since January, they’d probably be in a playoff spot right now. I genuinely believe this team is better than its record.
While it’s still a deeply flawed lineup, they’ve looked a lot better lately. The youth and speed being injected into the lineup have definitely been very valuable.
Can’t say no to playoffs but we gotta be real is 8 days in playoffs worth it over a top 10 pick that can help the retool and future
We are very similar to the 22-23 Panthers. Kinda.
Both won a President's Trophy and did very bad the next season; HOWEVER, Florida made the playoffs as a wildcard.
If we somehow get to the playoffs, we will face the Colorado Avalanche
The Panthers went against the 1st seeded Boston Bruins, and they managed to somehow win and made the finals
Even if we don't make it, I hope they atleast decide to tank before it's too late.

As a jet fan, we are no where near a cup run! If we make a playoff round, we arernt going anywhere from there. But its fun to have a whiteout, and thats all we can hope for
