Big changes in personnel so issues to be expected. Not Jarry’s fault, but his style does leave him susceptible to bad positioning on scrambles. I think he’s the backup now. Either way, the Oil have more depth than last week. Oil were out-coached.
Anaheim are going to be the toughest team in the Pacific to beat.

I know the answer may come back to the players but ,please help me pin point responsibility, Need Chaulk promoted from Bakersfield to come in and help he's done great in AHL, not head coach maybe advisor , promote Coffee but Knoblauch has lost the club and needs to leave
I think maybe the core players are fatigued after two trips to the final – up to almost 50 more games than most other teams. Add the compacted season which has brought more injuries (to all teams I know) . Panthers are in the same boat.

Pittsburg recently traded for a hot new goalie, why can't Oilers do that?
It's the same thing over and over again. Poor defensive recognition, positioning, and gap control. They are not coordinated on defence. They seem lost on who covers who. They are not gritty or make it tough on the opposing offence. The team DNA is offensive not defensive and it's going to hurt them moving forward.
The best thing would be for Edmonton to miss the playoffs. They've had 2 long seasons losing in the cup final, then a condensed season. I think they are physically and mentally tired. Having more time off in the spring/summer, a better draft pick, picking up some key pieces during free agency, and coming back fresh might be the best thing for them.

To me in short one team wanted it more won more of the battles and forced more turnovers. Now the big question is why is this happening so often. I suspect there are multiple reasons. Far too many to list here, but something is not right. I believe, the problems begin, before they hit the ice. To me they do not play like a team, I do not see the all for one and one for all comraderie we’ve seen far more often….as said that starts before they hit the ice….
It is one hot mess. Defense takes a team, to many players are use to getting bailed out by the offense.

Under Knoblauch- the 5v5 goal share when Draisaitl and McDavid is the lowest it’s been in Oilers history. The third line was brought in for hard matchups- this didn’t happen. Drai and McD looked exhausted at the end. Coach needs to go.
I'm LAUGHING right now smart management of Oilers traded very good goli for straggling for last 2 years Jarry . And now they got semi good players but they don't know how to insert them into linap .It should be Hyman -Mcdavid – Nudg Podkolzin – Drisatle -Kapanen Savoi – Dickinson – Frederic Samanski – Henrique – Dach . Play those units every game only to insert new guy in case of injury and only replace the new guy in place of injure one . Divide playing time first and second line 30 -30 third and forth 25 – 15 . defence smaller box push puck and opposition outward if player is coming at you challenge him don't give them breeding time so on and so fort

HE GETS OUT COACHED IN THE PLAYOFFS EVERY YEAR.
If you look back on the coaches that the Oilers have had. They last two years and then get fired. Knobs will be done at the end of the year when they miss the playoffs.
Massive coaching disadvantage. Canes are well coached and play as a team.
If you change the coach you can trial him and hit next season knowing what you have.
Bright side. Dickenson looked very good.
Edmonton had 10 years to get a truly first-rate goaltender –as for team defense–why 3 players , then Bowman gives up with a day left—becuase he knows that they are painted into a corner.
Send Jarry down on waivers; bring Pix back up. Use hopefully someone claims him and you can use the extra 5m for a decent goalie July 1

Oilers traded for a goalie that was sent to the A and cleared waivers in an age where there are not enough quality goalies for the entire league, and at the deadline you give up more to replace a defenseman Stan tossed in for that bad goalie…. Stan shouldn’t be in Oiler country. Sorry good people of Edmonton but that’s not light at the end of the tunnel, it’s a train!
