Ace the Devils should have traded for Denis Pederson and Kevin Dean
I really loved that the Devils scored 6 goals again! They didn't score 6 goals in a game in more than a year, and now they've scored 6 goals in a game twice in a week (even though in both of those games, the 6th goal was an empty netter).
I want to clear something up. When I said that Cody Glass should have been traded at the NHL Trade Deadline I wasn't saying give him away for nothing. Heck teams have gotten 1st rounders for worse. Also while he is having his best year ever many would understand selling high at this point with a player like him. He basically is a high round bust that finally found a place where his role was properly set and he has thrived. Thing is he will not be moved out of that and so you will not see much more if anything more than what he has this season in terms of point production. Again selling high for a late 1st round pick or an early 2nd round pick plus a prospect would have made sense for a team that is going nowhere. Now if we want to take the mindset of what the Devils management believes and that is injuries killed us and if not for that we would be in the playoffs and be a winning team well I understand wanting to keep him. Thing is though I only understand that mindset if they felt we were going to be a high seed playoff team. If not that then you got to restock the cupboards by way of picks and prospects and so you trade a Cody Glass to a real contending team.
I don’t know how they did it after that abysmal 2nd period, but the Devils are lucky they won this game! But it’s so fitting Kopitar became the all time points leader for the Kings against the devils. Brings back the scars of the 2012 finals which this franchise hasn’t recovered since then. 😤
I disagree with the Glass 4C take. I think he’s perfect where he is, and I would argue he’s even better suited for a 2C role and more powerplay time.

For me this year is 2nd worst, 88-89 season sucked ( think I was in 6th grade), after making playoffs for the 1st time, we went on a magical run beating isles and caps and losing to bruins in Wales Conference finals in game 7. As a kid, I was so excited for the 88-89 season and we didn't even sniff the playoffs, think we were around 10 games under .500 and about 20 points out of a playoff position. Sean Burke also regressed that year too
Just finish the season already. If there leaving the players on the team i mean who knows if they can change it up next year.
After this season is done, Fitzgerald is gone. I assume he's probably going to take the GM job in Nashville
