The Montreal Canadiens had their momentum slowed at the Bell Centre as the San Jose Sharks skated away with a 4–2 win. Rookie sensation Macklin Celebrini led the way with two goals and an assist, while Collin Graf added a goal and two helpers in the win.

Montreal opened the scoring early with a goal from Cole Caufield, but San Jose answered quickly and built a multi-goal lead. Nick Suzuki brought the Canadiens back within one late in the second period, but Celebrini sealed the game with an empty-net goal.

On this episode, Shaun Starr and Marco D’Amico break down the Canadiens’ loss, discuss the standout performance from Celebrini, and analyze what went wrong for Montreal. What does this result mean for the Habs moving forward, and what adjustments need to be made after the loss at the Bell Centre?

  1. What is missing is proper BALANCED Coaching where the MSL offence is balanced with a defense coach that teaches super shut down defensive ….A plan of adding Forwards like Hage, Zharovsky and Thomas will not win a cup ….. DEFENSE WINS CUPS …. ask Mcdavid …. ask Ovechkin ….

  2. They seemed to play better defensively under Richardson maybe they should consider bringing him back 🤷🏻

  3. feels weird, the guy is 32, not 38, playing 8min, resting 1 day, its not because hes old, 32 is still young

  4. Je n'ai jamais compris le trade pour acquérir Danault. Very bad trade by Hughes.
We were playong faster and more agressive with veleno and beck (for few games) in the line up. Je déteste l'arrivée de Danault. Il a brisé le momemtum que Habs avaient et la force & fougue des jeunes de cette equipe

  5. really liked Sean answer about the amount of point of 2C, its a balance, and how much they opportunity they give him, Suzuki have all the opportunity cauz hes better, but he got more points cauz he got more opportunity .. so sometimes judging a player of his amount of points, dont say everything. a guy who make 50points without powerplay. is as much as suzuki almost?

  6. put demidov with suzuki and pass him the puck during powerplay instead of caufield side, hell make 100points next year, and well say how great he is, its all about opportunities and make play around that player… the kid was playing 10mins second powerplay beginning of the year, and he plays with kapanen whos not creating much all season. and in powerplay hes the other side while most of the play are on caufield side

  7. No heart out there last night, I was not surprised they lost.i rather Gallagher in the lineup, somebody who actually cares,

  8. What’s crazy is that when Dobes allows 4 goals on 12 shots no one shits on him but when Monty allows 4 on 12 he gets crucified.

  9. Why not Veleno for Gally? Similar style play, Texier (-2) is dog shit defensively, we have offence in droves, I disagree with Danault, faceoffs/defensive play and play making are his strong suits, we also need stronger body movers in front of our goalies, Carrier couldn’t move his man

  10. The Habs are currently not built for playoff hockey. Buffalo is. That is the model the Canadiens need to emulate over the next two years if they want to contend for a Stanley Cup.

  11. Why wouldn't you just wait til mcdavid is a free agent…why the hell trade for him. Makes no sense lol mcdavid just wants to win a cup , so he would maybe take less to go somewhere.

  12. Having gally in or out of the lineup is not very significant. He's a 4th liner at this point. IMO i prefer a bigger heavier player who can forecheck and punish opposing teams defencemen.

  13. MSL got badly outcoached in that game in terms of game plan and lack of team motivation to compete – SJ was way better prepared for that game. Would not be shocked if Habs miss playoffs this year

  14. Just want to add, Suzuki was way off and looked clumsy last night. He was frustrating to watch, the empty net goal was his fault, he made a hope pass to the front of the net with no Hab in sight.
