These are the New York Rangers BIGGEST NEEDS & how they could be FIXED…

After the New York Rangers decided to move on from Artemi Panarin and didn’t re-sign him, it opened up a lot of cap space for this upcoming offseason. In today’s video, we discuss the Rangers’ biggest needs heading into this summer and what players they could try to target in Free Agency to possibly fill those needs in a weak free agent class.

  1. Mantha, Tolvanen—NO!!!!!!!!!! Rangers will sign Tuch, if he's available. Now that Laf will no longer be the whipping boy, that honor will fall to Miller because fans always need a victim in a losing season. Miller is like Kreider last year, pretty well injured on & off all year. Glad to see Rangers signed Brody Lamb to a contract. He has some upside but is a project. Rangers need to build up the prospect ranks. Edstrom has the ability to move up the lineup for sure if given a chance. Rangers need a 4th line center(free agency?) & its not Parsinnen. My fear is that Dreary will go crazy in Free Agency.

  2. Please no more 12-18 goal scorers , we have enough of them sitting in hartford. Depending on how dar the sabres go in playoffs will determine tuchs future. You need to trade for a star to lure him in. What about Matthews? Is he unhappy in toronto? They seem to be in a big down slide like the rangers. Maybe you could entice a trade with picks and prospects we are never gojng to give a chance. I think Matthews has the mind set of Messier, NY! Wow! Maybe ?

  3. Mantha 😂 hes the most injury-prone oversized marshmallow in the league. Marchment has been solid with CBJ, but id rather try and get Voronkov (even though his production has dropped as of late). Bring in Jeremy Lauzon. We need that physicality

  4. No Mantha, Tolvenen we should have got when Kakko was here. I’m ok with Ferraro coming for LD maybe with Carrick coming back also.
    Lafraniere-Zibenjad- Perrault
    Cuylle-Trochek-Miller
    Kartye-Laba-Greentree
    Berard-Edstrom-Rempe/Chemlar
    Gavrikov-Fox
    Ferraro-Schneider
    Robertson-Borgen
    Shesty
    Add backup Goalie

  5. I like your videos Trenur, but what you're saying here is the crux of the problem with this team year after year after year. We already have Miller as an albatross around our cap neck. Yes, we have the cap space NOW, but you don't spend it just because you have it — I mean tell me we won't want to sign Gabe for 8 years?! You save that money, either for some beneficial "cap trade" or for a younger big fish down the road, when the opportunity presents itself. You don't grab 30+ year olds in free agencies, they almost never age well … and not in 3-4-5 seasons, but usually in a couple of seasons. We have plenty of real good prospects for bottom 6 and bottom pairing d'men, just because a free agent can fill that role OR "might" be able to slot in the Top 4 doesn't mean they're the better option. Nope, if you're going to swing, you swing for the fences. If you can get a 26-27-year-old on a 3-4 year deal and they have a legitimate shot at cracking the Top 6 or Top 4 as a definitive upgrade, then sure you should consider it if the price is low enough, but stop with this obsession for 30+ year old free agents that could "MAYBE" help when you have plenty of decent younger guys chomping at the bit. Case in point, everyone wrote Robertson off last couple of years, is he really worse than a lot of the guys you mentioned? No, not really … and he's actually looked good on Schneider's left side in a Top 4 role of late … but if we had it your way (because we would block him) he would probably end up a waiver wire guy, or back to street clothes. So to answer your question at the end of the video, I don't want to see them pay for a 30+ year old or grab spare parts that "might" be better than some bottom 6 or bottom pairing d'man we already have. If we're going to do anything it needs to be a REAL hockey trade, and Drury (if he's still here) needs to "get the best player in the deal".
