Why This Could Be the Montreal Canadiens Year

In today’s video I talk about the Montreal Canadiens and why I believe they are a promising team to potentially go far in this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs. Led by young studs like Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, Lane Hutson, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Ivan Demidov they are extremely skilled and a high scoring team. They also got a taste of postseason action last year against the Washington Capitals which is something that can’t be said for teams like the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings.

  1. Montreal canadiens was my sleeper playoff pick this year. Love this team .being a blue jackets fan always need a back up team to cheer for into the playoffs

  2. Wait until the playoffs start and real hockey begins…then youll see what youve got and what youre missing. 😜

  3. ya think? Theres something called DEFENCE: great offence; goal tending ok BUT but… when you"re 24 th in GOALS AGAINST… ain"t gonna happen! Who s # 1 in both scoring and goals against? The Av s….

  4. Anything is possible if Tampa plays Buffalo in the 1st round and beat each other to a pulp

  5. Monty has let in 8 first shots…harder to win games when the ice is slanted from the get-go. He is talented, but he needs a bit more mental fortitude.

  6. Ottawa is making a good push and is finally playing up to their potential so don't count them out just yet…

  7. As big habs fan, I really don’t think this year is it for a cup, but give them 1-2 more years and they’ll be one of the most, if not the most deadly nhl. The hunt for the 25th cup is almost over!

  8. If Fowler keeo getting better in the next year and step up as number 1 we will have a nice big windows. Unfortunately for the team we will need Gally to step out of the alignment also. He's been the heart of the team for so long but his body is just not able to keep up anymore.

  9. Edm is hanging on by skin of their teeth….if McDavid doesn't get 3pts gm they lose.
In comparison…the Leafs who are having a horrible season are just 5 pts behind the oilers.
Mtl will have a hard time getting out of rd 1.

  10. I know so many people are going to call bullshit and say the Habs aren't there yet, but maybe they are. They already have some of the best scoring in the league, so if Fowler really is the second coming of Price, they could seriously be a contender. They went to the finals with a WAY worse team being carried by a red hot goalie, and now they could make it there with elite offense and elite goaltending.

  11. I'm a life-long Habs fan and even I'm not delusional enough to say "this is their year". Pump the brakes, we don't have a lights out goaltender yet and that is the most important piece to go deep. PS, Demidov is tied with Senecke

  12. I dont think this is their year, they're still learning/growing but once in the playoffs, anything can happen

  13. Montreal probably won't peak until at least two years from now. But being a playoff underdog has been their thing for a while now so you never know. Back in 93 I wasn't expecting that cup either so we will see.

  14. You're getting too far ahead of yourself. They're not a bad team, but they're not where they need to be not even with Fowler. Every time you say something positive about this team, they end up losing 5 in a row with luck, they could get into the playoffs. Personally, I don't think they're good enough to go far time will tell But don't start throwing the confetti yet, just yet.
