This is the bed this organization made and now they must lie in it. Grit starts with the right leaders . This team has been devoid of it from the jump . You needed a leader who inspired physical play with his own and instead you gave this guy the C. This is sadly poetic .

Today I know why Gord wasn’t back in the picture after the Leafs , no team need to have draft picks to rebuild, they trade away their top players for draft picks to rebuild , especially these top players are definitely willing and glad to leave Toronto, Gord you are so dumb

Team needs to be broken up. Not sure how they can move forward now that the simple truth has been exposed. Respect is different than caring for someone as a teammate and a person. That emotion will trigger a response automatically vs just respect. No one on the ice did anything. No one jumped off the bench. There is no way Matthews can play with this group knowing that they don't give a sht about him. Tear it down
Matthews is a problem. He also isn't a Capt. For some reason leaf nation will admit to every issue but this. Maybe it's painful because of the time and money put into this guy. Maybe they keep hoping he is still the savior. The Leafs play better without him. His value is plummeting. It would not only help his career or production to go to a US team. Toronto can recoup some assets while he still holds some sort of value

It gets back to the Team America: World Police thing – there are 3 types of people, Ps, Ds, and As (if you know, you know). The Leafs core is all Ps. When they’re all Ps, they’re liable to get F’d by the other team’s Ds (or S’d on by their As). They needed to replace one or two of those Ps with Ds in their core group, but they didn’t do it when they had a chance, and now it’s too late
