Gudas is a pos, end of story. He drove his knee through Matthews. The team needs to be traded, they didn't do anything. its crazy how little they care about each other.
I am glad that they didnāt respond immediately. They needed the 5 minute PP and the victory. Revenge is a dish best served cold. Sign a couple utter goons from the Quebec Senior League in time for the rematch at the end of the month. I would rather see a real message get sent, as opposed to the half hearted protests we would have seen from Nylander et al.

Matthews already has his money. He's fleeced the Leafs three times before his 30th birthday and you've gotten poor effort when it counts. The Auston Matthews who showed up during the Olympics was engaged and excited: the Auston Matthews that plays in Toronto is not — He is THE PROBLEM (in many ways: not a leader, cap hell, shows up when he feels like it, apparently his teammates don't think much of him to take a punch for him), not the solution.

I have two trains of thought with this. One is why is Austin Matthews playing to begin with? Heās not looked 100 percent, even prior to the Olympic break. Toronto isnāt in the playoff hunt, so why wasāt he shut down to prevent something that could affect next season? I could understand if Toronto was in the playoff mix, but they arenāt.
Two, why did no one in blue decide to give anyone on the other team some pain? Iāll switch this to baseball 20 years ago. If a pitcher hit a Boston Red Sox player up and in, and looked intentional. The very next game Pedro Martinez pitched against that team, he was going to get even. That didnāt happen last night.

Gees…it only took 10 years to realize that the Leafs were constructed wrongly by the fans, the media and the assholes ownership of Bell and Rogers. While everyone else knew that the Leafs weren't going anywhere.
Difficult hit sure but it wasn't deliberate. He was trying to check him and Matthews tried to dodge with an unfortunate result. Not suspension worthy at all but because it's Matthews he'll get a couple of games. Matthews is twisting out of the way of a check and Gudas momentum carried through. I'm no Gudas fan, can't stand him really, but the intent just isn't there. I don't have a problem with the Leafs either I just can't stand all this biased fanboy crap y'all are spewing.
