  1. Great to have Samanski and Howard back. Fingers crossed we see something else by the deadline.

  2. See sanjose last goal scored on us, see what Mcdavid was doing there, throw a bad pass to a sharks player skates in offence zone, got intercepted and ended up in our net 2 seconds later

  3. Walman-Bouchard is something I've been asking for the entire season, ever since we saw what two puck movers on a pair looked like in the playoffs when they didn't have Ekholm. Nurse kind of screws it up though, because I think Emberson-Stastney is an excellent 3rd pair and have been heating up recently (And they have a history from the US development program), and I think we've seen an Ekholm-Nurse pair be very bad and slow. I'd almost take Ekholm-Nurse to keep Emberson and Stastney together though, I guess we'll see how this new deployment looks. I do hope they either bring back Kilngberg or get someone who can move the puck at a similar level – guys who are confident at the blue line drastically reduce the need for anyone to play a shut-down role against rush chances.

  4. Forgive me if I don't understand but…. If Nurse is absolute Dog shit right now why not bench him or send him to the AHL??? I know he has a no trade contract but its not trading him sending him to Bakersfield. I'm so confused why he gets so much ice time if he is utter dog shit.

  5. If the coaches don't start sitting these snowflakes to send a message then they'll never learn. You have to be somewhere between new school and old school to motivate these guys. If you gave me a million dollars to play on a professional hockey team – you better believe I would skate circles around most of this Team. 100%. There is zero drive a zero fight and if that is non-existent in every game then you get ineffective plays and inconsistent results. Exactly what we see here.

  6. thoughts on the Oilers maybe trading for Connor Murphy?
Edit: ok, i think they gave up a 2nd, also it will be 50% retained

  7. I think Podkolzin on 3rd line. He plays hard and tough but I don’t think he’s a 2nd line guy, especially next to Leon. He needs someone to finish. What’s wrong with Savoie on the 2nd line? Kapanen has been injured most of the season and whenever he returns he has a 2 or 3 good games and then he disappears. Need some consistency with the 2nd line wingers. How many seasons now have we been waiting for a solid fixture that compliments him?Nurse should play as little as possible, at the very least on the 3rd pairing.

  8. Bowman more or less has it correct. The Oilers have 2 fundamental problems:
    1. Lack of mental consistency or toughness to play defensive hockey that wins in the playoffs. For many of our all star players, playing freewheeling wide-open lots-of-goals hockey is engrained in them. Hopefully, with some strong coaching and player commitment, this can be improved, albeit not totally corrected.
    2. The Nurse Curse where one contract, overly paid and with trade restrictions on top, and currently belonging to a drastically poor performing player, is an absolute team killer. The team could have 2 or 3 much needed $4-$5 million good performing players instead. Don't know how Bowman and company overcome this problem, unless Nurse, for the betterment of the team, can be convinced to waive his no-trade rights.
I personally am lacking belief that #1 can be corrected "enough" or that #2 will ever happen. No Stanley Cup winner is the result.

  9. Für mich wirkt das ganze als ob die kein plan seit Jahren haben – es ist wie eine Straße mit Löchern, anstatt alles neu zu machen, wird jedes Loch nur geflickt 😉

  10. Knoblauch continues to set players up for failure – Roslovic is NOT a centre and struggles at that position and Savoie – nothing like kicking the kid when he was player of the week. Unbelievable.

  11. I really like what bowman said. As annoyed as I am with him for trading away all of depth: Perry, Brown, Kane, etcetc for big contracts like Frederick, I liked what he said today. It’s
Not just one thing, it’s a lot of different things. I feel very frustrated at Wallman’s defensive play. Everyone is blaming Nurse (ya he can be better) but it you look at the last game, he did so many terrible plays defensively.

There’s always hope things will turn around.
