Bouchard's defense is underrated. His blunders are mostly an October thing

Makar and Bouchard wouldn't even be in the Norris convo if they didn't play of teams with the 2 best forwards in the league.

Overrated 1000%. Plays with the two best players in the league and racks up points, but is a liability defensively. Send him to a weaker market and tell me he's still elite
People just really want him to suck and will find anyway they can to demonstrate that.
Problem is he is good at hockey and the rest of us just need to watch him play to know he’s one of the best in the league.
Hes underrated. Top defensemen like Makar, Quinn, Werenski all make similar mistakes Bouchard does. For what ever reason only Bouchard's gets magnified. Go have a look at all these players past games, Im sure youll find similar mistakes in their past performances. Maybe their goalies have bailed them out? unlike Bouchard's goalie, maybe why his mistakes is magnified. If Bouchard was on Olympic team, he mightve engineered the winning goal on the 3 on 3 with Connor, like he does for the Oilers.
hes not overrated just overvalued – hes great at what he does, but Id rather have a shutdown defensive defenseman anyday than what he does – id rather take drew doughty or erik karlesson prime for prime if i had to make an immediate choice….

Bouchard should have been on Team Canada ahead of Doughty, Sanheim, and Parayko.
Plays awesome in playoffs in both ends of the rink. Makar and Hughes both make defensive errors too.
Definitely overated. Take away McDick, Drai and ample power play time and he would not crack 50 points.

Bouchard is not worth the money. He lose more games for the Oilers than he wins. That money could be spent far better elsewhere. Oilers need to trade him while they can.
Coming from the guy (Frankie) who was bashing bouch when o dog and Craig button where the only ones saying he should be on team Canada. Huge mistake he wasn’t and now half the hockey world is saying he should have been especially with the fact that morrisey was out… bouch is great defensively. The Norris has been degraded because of how good the OFD in the league are now. The Norris is supposed to be the best all around defender, that’s why Lidstrom won it so many times, Pronger, Niedermayer…..we need a separate trophy now for OFD. Make the Bobby Orr trophy for top OFD and return the integrity to the Norris
If you actually watch the games. He makes no more mistakes then makar, and Hughes, I’ve seen Bouchard play against them both and in both cases I think he outplays them. He’s also incredibly durable. And not the mention his play in the playoffs has been historic, oh and he did that without ekholm last year. He deserves the Norris.

Defenseman A: 500 puck touches, 60 turnovers → 12%
Bouchard: 900 puck touches, 95 turnovers → ~10.5%
He was over-rated, now hes underrated massively.
