This IS a good team!! Its also the March of the Penguins!!! A direct route to the post season!
Ive said since before the season…As long as Sid is still lacing em up, Dubas will make this a good team. Kindel was an amazing "reach" for a pick 😂 and unless you look at Minnesota scooping up all the star power they could, Chinakhov has to be one of the best trades of the year. As long as this team can maintain pace and make it to the playoffs, there's always a chance of anything happening. Would it be easy, or Pittsburgh be a front runner as a cup winner? No…but other teams have shown, once youre in the post season anything can happen. Sure Carolina, Islanders, Tampa, possibly even Boston may be a hard team to face, but its not impossible to beat them. Same would go for Colorado, Minnesota, Dallas, or whoever wins the west
I don't hold this team as a great team. I still don't think if this season is replayed 10 times they would make the playoffs half the time. They've had the luxury of having half of their team (all the bubble players who have been cast off by others) having career years. It is quite fascinating that literally almost half the team is having career years. Add Malkin and Karlsson having a resurgence year and the goalies playing well. That extends to the goalies, specifically Silvos..he is having a career year. Having said that, I wasn't sure of Muse and the coaching staff but I think Muse and the coaches deserve most of the credit they've done a great job. I wish there was some move that could have been done at the trade deadline or around it to add something, it didn't need to be overpaying…anywyas enjoying the season and glad Sid and Gino will be back in the playoffs
Good morning Dejan & the DK Sports team, thank you for elaborating on my comment/question regarding missing Sid. I was clearly making it about the two PP's the Pens had in the OT. You're correct, in their PP vs Carolina they did set up once and Chinakhov did have a shot near where he scored vs Boston although it was blocked and deflected away. Other than that…….just nothing. Dejan, is it me or do they look too lacksidaisy while having a PP only while in OT? During the regular game they push into the zone, settle the puck & positions down, and let Karlsson quarterback it. Just so different in OT. With Sid (and you'recorrectGeno too), I completely agree how when Sid receives the puck low he may hold it for a couple seconds and that let's everyone get into position. Seems to me, if we score, we can win. … We're almost there. I like to think we can beat every team with some more of a challenge than others. I still have trepidations the team can go out and lay an egg against anybody. Aren't you glad the team can win with either goalie. It's not too bad if the biggest thing Debbie downers peck on is 1 and 10.
