Another totally forgettable performance. If this team is serious about making the playoffs then Ned needs to start the majority of the games. Askarov’s glove is completely Swiss cheese. Also call up Chernyshov bc he’ll do more with less chances than eklund or Toffoli who both gotta go. Goodrow should be scratched for Regenda too. Klingberg should’ve been gone for the zillionth time
I love Asky, but we need Ned to start more games over Asky if we are serious about this push to the playoff. You can tell the defense plays with more certainty and calm with Ned in net. It's not the goalie's fault with all of our unforced turnovers, but Asky's erratic and inconsistent puck play already adds more stress to a susceptible defense. In addition he has allowed at least one goal he would like to have back the last 5+ starts. Credit to Buffalo, they brought it and the Sharks didn't. FREE MISA!
All these new sharks fans thinking rookies goaltenders are supposed to be stars need to chill out. What wolf did for the flames last year is an anomaly. Give asky time to figure it out. He’s still a rookie on a team with atrocious defense. Does he let in bad goals from time to time? Absolutely, but he’s still figuring it out. If he’s still doing this 2-3 years down the line it’ll be time to move on.
