The Montreal Canadiens could soon face an interesting decision: who gets the call from Laval?
With both Jacob Fowler and David Reinbacher having strong seasons with the Laval Rocket, the Habs may have two legitimate options if they need help at the NHL level.
Should Montreal address a need in goal by giving Fowler an opportunity? Or would the Canadiens be better served reinforcing the blue line with Reinbacher’s size, mobility and defensive presence?

Monty was claimed on waivers , he is not a #1 goalie , so allowing Dobes the net will let him build his confidence in that lane . “In an athlete, it is not the legs that go first.” Go Hab`s Go !!
You guys are so wrong about Monty, Dobes was awful against San Jose and not a thing was said….brutal….not to mention Dobes always get the easier teams…

Habs don't have the cap space to recall more than one player right now.
Dobes is doing the job, he's winning and hopefully the defense will improve in front of him.
Sean, be patient, Habs are not Cup contenders for this year, better leave Reinbacker and Fowler in Laval and give Hage a few games at the end.

I would love to see both Reinbacher and Fowler get called up. That with adding Hage at the end of the year and the future is now!

Montreal is 29-2-3 when giving up 3 goals or less and 22-1 when giving up 2 goals or less. Montreal would be crushing everyone right now including Tampa, Buffalo, Minnesota, and Colorado if they had Carey Price back in his prime with a Shea Weber. Price's issues when playing was Montreal couldn't score, now they're a scoring machine, but no goaltending.
They need the team D fixed and then concentrate on goaltending! With the team playing GOOD D, even Monty might look good!
"faster on his reactions" well that is NOT how you play good hockey you want to be THINKING ahead reading the play not reacting.
Reinbacher has slower than NHL foot speed sure he is smart enough uses his size well but he is BARELY of NHL calibre I would leave him in Laval right to the end of their playoffs.
IMO they should have used Guhle as far back as last year as trade bait he is imo just avg at all skills he is not elite at anything geesh even Arber has an elite shot it's better to have something than nothing.The problem of course is how do other managers see Guhle THEY are not fanbois like habs fans who over rate all thier players.
Everyone has been so quick to move Arber but the Habs of old had one or 2 of those D man on MANY a cup winning team Habs fans are just being ridiculous wanting a whole D core of Bobby Orr's.
I will repeat the habs last cup they were by far NOT favored to win but they did so and yes there were some coaching moves throughout including in their 86 Calgary win as well.
We need to quit trying to buy a winner this team has already proven they can beat ANY team so let's start pointing the finger at MSL to get these guys playing consistent SMART hockey for 3 periods.

Reinbacher will get eaten alive in the NHL there is a reason he hasn't gotten called up ,he just isn't good enough yet
Just because I had to look it up I'll share that the Habs no longer have to worry about the 23 man roster limit, they only need to worry about the salary cap. Laine's CAP hit is already accounted for so its the roughly $1.2M we still have available that will dictate who we can add to the NHL roster and when. I was still under the impression we could only hold 23 players on the NHL roster, that ended with the trade deadline.
Bringing up Reinbacher at this time would be an unmitigated disaster!
There are ways to clear cap space to add more than 1, specifically we know that Veleno isn't playing for us any more so just out right release him already, that's ~$900K of Cap space.
