Barrett Hayton’s MASSIVE Reverse Hit 💥 Ross Colton Didn’t See This Coming!

Utah’s Barrett Hayton delivered an effective reverse hit on Colorado’s Ross Colton💥👀

Did you guys catch the Utah Hockey Club vs. Colorado Avalanche game on February 25th? Because Barrett Hayton just put on a literal clinic on how to handle an incoming check!

In the middle of the neutral zone, Colorado’s Ross Colton came in hot looking to lay a big hit on Hayton near the boards. But instead of getting flattened, Hayton read the play perfectly and delivered a textbook reverse hit that sent Colton flying while Hayton just kept on skating with the puck.

For anyone new to hockey, a reverse hit is basically “uno reverse” in physical form. Usually, the player without the puck hits the player with the puck. But in a reverse hit, the player with the puck anticipates the contact, anchors their feet, and uses their own momentum to knock the defender back instead. It’s all about timing, leverage, and core strength!

Elite Awareness: Hayton knew exactly where Colton was before the contact.

Pure Physics: He stayed low and exploded upward into Colton’s chest.

Total Clean Play: No elbows, no charging—just high-IQ hockey and a huge momentum swing for Utah.

It’s honestly pure hockey art when someone pulls this off so cleanly without taking a penalty.

Was this the best hit of the night, or did Colton just mistime his approach? Let me know in the comments!
